Uriah Heap got a reaction from Memphis2 in Leicester City
Always had a soft spot for Sunderland, since the Porterfield goal in 1973. Now have a mate who loves them so I'm supportin them to stay up this season.
One team I think will be a great bet to come straight back up are Aston Villa. However the smart chaps at the TAB have probably already worked that out and will have them at very narrow odds.
I wonder if the bookies will give 5000 -1 about any team in the Premier League next season??

I'd say the Warriors have some rotten eggs and a one win won't wallpaper over the cracks. Hurrell should never play for the top team again and I'd send Vatuvai on his way as well. That will send a message that no one is above the team.

Do you mean gave it, the drink, to the cat? or drank the mixture and then gave it to the cat?

Absolute classic and a great "Sing it loud in the shower song."

Uriah Heap got a reaction from Memphis2 in Malakai Fekitoa
He's started the season off in fine style. On both attack and defence.
Let's hope that anger keeps bubbling away cause the All blacks will need him in the form he's in.

It was nice to see those "old warriors" Corey Jane and Isreal Dagg, produce games that harked back to their glory days.Jane got the fend going and Dagg had those twinkling feet working like we haven't seen in quite some time. Maybe they're not ready to go out to pasture just yet.

Loved that try to win the game. Is that try of the season to date? Given the state of the match at the time, I think it is.

I have no problem with the various recent posts.
Race Cafe has always been a bit that way, in fact the vitriol used to be far more prevalent. I usually get bored with it before I get offended.
I reckon 80% is tongue in cheek and needs to be treated as such.

I don't mind the abusive comments as long as it restricted to one thread for the 3 or 4 involved and the rest of us know not to look there. Then everyone would be happy. Perhaps this could be the sort of play pen thread.

Uriah Heap reacted to Ohokaman in Flag
Nearly a million voted for change. The polls had the old flag 3-1 favourite, it was nothing like that.
An opportunity lost here methinks. While the option wasn't my choice ( the red, white and blue much better ) and the way this was pushed through not ideal, the question has been raised and it has got people thinking.
We need our own identity, and I'm sure it will happen, probably sooner rather than later.
Maybe the status quo mob are hoping the Aussies turn Republic......

Uriah Heap reacted to Trump in Flag
What a joke. Take a bow NZ'ers and be prepared to be rogered big time. You've stuck to a flag so close to Prince Charles, Camilla, Australia, that you should be ashamed. The alternative was a cracker. Unfortunately, I suspect many of the status quo voters have probably never ventured offshore or, don't want to forge their own identity for their children and grandchildren going forward. Rejoice ye loyalists and long live under the undies of the Empire.

Uriah Heap got a reaction from Gruff in DEMENTIA HEADLINE.
It's a bad time for a story such as this to come out, it being Junior rugby registration this month.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is some link between rugby knocks and dementia, but there are many variables to discount first.
The first thing I'd be asking the Taranaki rugby players from the early 60's is, "Did you have heavy drinking sessions following your Saturday rugby games?"

Uriah Heap reacted to Berri in Cheltenham
It really pisses me off that after all these years of complaining the. folk in Petone don't cover or report what is undoubtedly one of the greatest carnivals on the planet. There are 270,000 confirmed ticket sales this year. Four of the races will be in the top ten betting races on the UK ( flat included) racing calendar.
you would think that someone would have the intelligence and courage to include this event as a "must do" betting promotion for the TAB's customers

An usually bright start to the season. All the Kiwi sides looked good and would be satisfied with their showings.......except the Hurricanes. They were awful.

Uriah Heap got a reaction from Canelo in McCullum
Yep we were well beaten. It's mainly disappointing because, for the past year I'd been looking fwd to this series in NZ as one we could win. Once Starc and Johnson were gone I was even more confident. However it turned out we weren't even close.
I don't agree in righting us off all together. Boult and Southee are fairly high up in Test stats but they didn't really fire a shot this season, against Aus. Williamson also struggled until that final innings and Taylor was missing. Henry looks a promising bowler/No.8 batsman, Watling and Latham are solid in the positions they fill.
I reckon the makings are there for a good team. They just need to fire.

I may not be sure how many teams are in the comp.
I may have picked the Cheetahs in the first round, after thinking the Juguar's were a South African team.
I may not be able to understand the pools system and who can make the finals.
But ..... Super Rugby is back for another season, starting this weekend, when Tana and his team are thrown in the deep end. U beauty.

Uriah Heap got a reaction from Catalano in Flag Change. Power and Ego?
Forget the politics and point scoring. Forget the cost of the referendum and the need for a new anthem.
For heavens sake just vote for a new flag. Something that, when people around the world see it flying, spot the silver fern they go, "There's the New Zealand flag".
