  1. Plenty to talk about today. Looks like it's Klip Klopp to the Kop.
  2. I thought you were moving to Gisborne?
  3. Why would anyone encourage their son to take up Rugby League after watching that U18/Schools game? All testosterone and posturing, with no player appearing to have the self control to calm themselves. It would point to poor leadership on the field, but more importantly (given their age), off the field. You can go on all you like about "Great Grand Final" (and it was), but the likes of that U18 game and Andrew Johns rolling around drunk at an airport, continue to backstab the sport every time.
  4. Correct about those pushed passes Little T. The worst offender being Aaron Smith. I think he might have forgotten to take his ADHD pills that morning, wanting to do everything 100 miles per hour. I suspect they'll have a look themselves, recognise what went wrong and there will be great improvement v Tonga.
  5. Our criminal Kiwi brothers (and sisters) are returning to our shores after being held in Australian Detention Centres. Do we refer to these people as immigrants, refugees or returning hero's?
  6. I agree with Jim when he says the $4.for Aus and $2's for AB's are ridiculous odds. The question is "Will the All Blacks even get to play Australia?" The way it's shaping we have France or Ireland in 1/4's then Sth Africa in the semi. Will we beat both them? I think we have committed to Carter and provided he lifts vs Tonga he is our man - for better or for worse. I think he will improve and the aspect that most needs improvement is his kicking. More concerning than Carter are 1. The Aussie scrum (It now looks huge) and 2. The two fast loosies (Hooper and Pocock) acting in tandem. How would we counter these were we to play them? I'm very nervous right now. .
  7. Yeah I'd heard that those houses with a view of The Takeaway joint across the road were commanding top dollar in Gore.
  8. Scrums and TMO's. I can't stand them. The only good thing about modern day scrums is that it gives me time to leave the room, take a shower, shave, do the dishes make a cup of coffee, then return to the game knowing they'll still be resetting.
  9. How did the Hayne Train go this weekend.? Did he get a start? How many touches three, four..?? Money aside, why would he want to lay that game over League, where he'd get many more chances with the pill?
  10. He certainly doesn't see himself as a Mahatma Gandhi does he? It's yet another of those cases where those of us outside of his church can see that the "Emperor has no clothes". But try telling that to his Destiny Church followers. You''ll have two shows, as they continue to dig into there pockets.
  11. If you are saying Dan Carter is a poor tactical kicker (which I don't agree with), then we need to replace him with someone who is. What is required is a flexible game plan and this must include kicking. I can recall one occasion, where the AB's threw the ball about like they were playing touch rugby and got nowhere. Immediately thereafter, an excellent kick by Sonny Bill Williams got them field position, inside Argies 22 meter line, from where pressure was maintained.
  12. I thought the English and the All Blacks were fairly similar. Both weathered the storm that a passionate opposition brought to the game and by the end were dominant. I can't really work out why the Boks did not kick away in a similar manner. Not only did they lose, but they lost badly. In the final 10 minutes they appeared to have run out of juice. That's just horse racing I guess.
  13. Sad to see that picture of NZ'r Lydia Ko, Major Golf Open winner, wrapped in the Union Jack.
  14. Only a couple of days to go until Fiji shock the world in the opening game.
  15. The Hayne Train is out of control. The first kick comes in, it's high, it's long, the Hayne Train is under it and ...............he drops it. Bugger! 49's Head Coach is heard to say "We should have taken that other guy - Isreal Dagg. At least he can catch a footy"
  16. Naenae, Taita, Stokes Valley, Wainuiomata. Poor buggers. Out of the fat and into the fire. They'll soon be wishing they's stayed in Syria.
  17. I read a interesting story earlier in the week. Five Syrian family's got settled in Uruguay in 2014. All good you might think. Uruguay does it's bit and Syrians all safe and sound away from the fighting etc. But wait - the Syrians looked at their lot in Uruguay and thought they could do much better in Europe. They began protesting that they wanted to leave. One family caught a flight to Istanbul intending to move on to Serbia and then into western Europe. Turks kept them at the aitport for 23 days and then sent them back to Uruguay. I'd have sent them back to Syria.
  18. It's about to commence. I know this because my Pommy mate has again begun bleating on about how Richie McCaw is a cheat, Andrew Saville is reporting from London and everyone is talking about that game vs France in 2007 (at least we won't have that idiot McAllister playing for us this time). I reckon the Argie game will be a close one esp if it is raining, which is very likely.
  19. Most will be OK and we'll assimilate them without too many problems. "Let them in," I say. Any problems are likely to arise when their kids grow into teens and start listening to Jiahard John over the internet, preaching holy war and death to the infidels (us Kiwis). This will happen if they all get stuck down in South Auckland and Naenae.
  20. If we take in 100.000 that would solve the flag issue. Red, white and black with two green stars.
  21. Nearly right Crusty. In actual fact, it was playing on his mind, so John Key mentioned the debt to Richie McCaw on Sunday. Richie told him to concentrate on World Cups and Flags and not worry about debts and such like. "Thanks Sir Richie," John said with a broad smile. "No worries mate," Richie replied, turning away, while trying to remember who he was speaking too.
  22. Did Richie say that? Right then. A changed flag there has to be. In regard to the Housing issues in the country of Auckland. Richie probably has got more answers than the National Govt.
  23. Thanks Memphis/Fitzy. I knew RR was having a rest over after Queensland Carnival, but expected it back before now esp with the Warwick Stakes last Saturday. With Royal Crescent winning after a 700 day gap, I was interested what Ron and his mate would have to say about that time honoured race. It's usually a great pointer toward the rest of the spring.
  24. I know I'm in for a wrap over the knuckles for not paying attention, but what has happened to Aus Racing Retro? I heard Ron D giving comments and tips on Saturday.
