  1. They have already started sinking the post holes and preparing the razor wire along the Mexican border.
  2. Forget the politics and point scoring. Forget the cost of the referendum and the need for a new anthem. For heavens sake just vote for a new flag. Something that, when people around the world see it flying, spot the silver fern they go, "There's the New Zealand flag".
  3. I'd be picking "A Draw" was the fav - Given recent history of tests on that pitch. Our batsmen had battled well in the 2nd and 3rd Tests in Aus and the Aus bowling attack is not the strongest they've ever had. I'd have thought $2.20 was about right.
  4. Just like all of us, eh Crusty??
  5. He looks to have lost his form right now. One good innings and it'll be back, but it's bad timing, given who we playing.
  6. That's an old fashioned word Ohokaman. To be fair, quite a few "Hori's of my acquaintance are as pissed off as the rest of the country. They blame Nga Puhi alone for what occurs at their Marae on Waitangi weekend.
  7. I reckon a big reason for the lower road toll will be that the car designs are far superior to what they were. I recall the old rust buckets we used to get around in, with no seat belts in the back.
  8. I am genuinely happy to see Chelsea win their relegation battle against Sunderland. The result v Sunderland was the perfect two fingered salute by the players, to their departing Manager.
  9. Given debates earlier this year, the other thing I found irony in was - Jonah only rented the house in Parnell. The owners are Tai Qin and Jie Wue.
  10. To my mind the old hand came out a fraction quick in terms of the Givealittle request for public support. Now we have information being released about the poor state of Jonah Lomu's finances when he passed away. Again, this info must have come from the family and Jonah's wife/Manager in particular. It just all looks a bit contrived in my view. I see where a real estate transaction occurred between Jonah and his father in law, involving a considerable amount of money. Has the Grandfather been asked how he can contribute to his two grandson's welfare? Having said all this I feel a charity match with profits to the two boys would not be out of order. Just don't hand the cash to their mother.
  11. I thought it was a good Test, with the Sri Lankan's putting up more of a fight than many thought they would. The Black Caps are now in good form and should really be across the Tasman completing (and likely winning) a 5 Test series v Aussie.
  12. I have exercised my franchise. I gave the top mark to the black and blue silver fern. I have seen this flying at a number of houses when out for a walk, and it looks good. I like it!
  13. Cairns is continuing to call McCullum out on this. Front page of yesterdays Sunday Star Times he's again asking for McCullum to speak up on why he testified against him. To mine Cairns is deliberately baiting McCullum, wanting to drag down into the mud for a media version of a gloves off scrap. It would be all "he said - she said", with mud thrown and innuendo. It would suit Sunday Star Times because they have been in the Cairns corner since day one and will want this story to have some legs. McCullum would do well to steer clear of such a circus, but it must be hard for him to bite his tongue.
  14. With the state of the Racing Industry in NZ right at this moment, can you afford to be bagging the current NZ cricket captain when looks to take an interest in horse racing. Kids (and grown up kids) who don't understand much about the recent perjury trial, are interested in what bat McCullum uses, what pads he wears, what he eats for breakfast, and what his interests are. One of those interests is Horse Racing. If you want to knock the man because he appears a little dodgy, then lets start a list of dodgy people in the racing industry. It'll be a long list.
  15. What the hell is going on with the A League supporters? They're walking out at half time and this weekend they're not showing up at all. It's "Punter Power", "Stick it to the Man", "Show them who keeps the whole show afloat".
  16. Cairns has put it out there. Of McCullum's evidence he has said "Why has he done that?". "It is sad". Let's not fudge it, by this statement, Cairns is clearly saying the current Black Caps Captain is a liar. With Lou Vincent totally discredited, it boils down to which of Cairn's and McCullum is lying.
  17. Chris Cairns was commentating for Sky Sport on a Test match in Dunedin when the news broke that he was being investigated. He immediately resigned..
  18. Cairns said this morning that his father had suffered. He said Lance had attended a Cricket World Cup game and some (unnamed) old team mates had turned their backs on him. I'd like to know which "Old team mates" did this to Lance Cairns. Does anyone know?
  19. Cairns brought this trial upon himself, when he sued Modi in 2011. He should have let the Modi comments slide through to the Keeper and we'd have all quickly forgotten about it. Had he done so, Cairns would now be a Sky commentator and we would have only vague memories of match fixing accusations against him.
  20. Be easy to say we were ripped off by the TMO in this test. So lets just go with that. "We were seriously ripped off."
  21. Can't agree with you there Ohokaman. If you want to see serious boxing you look to the lower weights. Best thing that could have happened for Heavyweight boxing is the Ukrainian losing to a bloke who cries and sings a song after the bout. Heavy weight boxing thrives on loud mouth showmanship. What i couldn't believe is we got to see it for free. I thought that didn't happen any more with boxing. I bet we have to pay to watch the rematch.
  22. I see it's rated a Dead 4, which is preferable to "Good'. Is anyone able to answer Puha's question or do we just wait and see?
  23. That's right Yankiwi. These guys are lunatics and do not play by the rules. It's like playing Foxton at rugby.
