coro fan reacted to Pam Robson in South Island Jockeys
Seemingly the Sth Island is now considered 'one' region, owing to the current horse numbers.
So the fact that the 'region' can mean a nine hour trip in a truck for your horses to go where conditions suit is just part of the deal.  Apparently.

Exactly.    We need them, we'd be stuffed without them.
The  rapid acceptance - and excellent results - of imports Kennedy, Zackey, and Doyle only showcase that the north ain't full of superstars either.

coro fan reacted to Black Kirrama in Pete Moody's quotes on Jamie Kah's recovery.
Copied and pasted from Racing.com and Race net.( with thanks )
Moody says this of Kah's recovery after her March 11  2023 VRC fall.

“She is the biggest thing in our sport, Gai Waterhouse has been the queen, this is the princess and we’re going to need the princess to step up and be the queen one day.
“She’s the heir to the throne and we need her, so take all the time you like to recover, be as safe as all hell.”
Kah has been hospitalised and subsequently in a rehabilitation facility since falling from two-year-old Flyball in the VRC Sires Produce Stakes at Flemington on March 11.
    Pete also said

“Love and best to her and her family and a long road ahead but a safe road and look forward to seeing her back, whether that’s in three, six or twelve months.
“The one thing she did touch on and I hope I’m not speaking out of school is that she had a broken bone in her hand.
“I said well the one thing about that is you’ve got two hands but only one brain so look after yourself love.”

Craig Williams, injured in the same race fall may return to riding in the next week.
    Thank God he's okay too.

If you are going to put something out the least you could do is post the FULL statement not just choose the bits you want...who gave you permission to post the statement...the least you could of done was let Te Akau release the information first.Anyway below is the FULL press release for complete clarity.

    MEDIA STATEMENT - 28 MARCH 2023
We are extremely disappointed to be advised by the Racing Integrity Board (RIB) that Tokyo Tycoon has returned a positive post-race result for a non-steroidal, anti inflammatory medication following the Group 1 Sistema Stakes.
This news has come as an enormous shock as we have trained 155 winners this year in New Zealand alone, 30 at Group level, and every other horse has delivered a 100% clear post-race result.
Te Akau always conducts itself with the utmost integrity and professionalism. Our whole team is deeply committed to these principles. We take pride in our robust systems, which have been noted by the RIB. Abiding by all rules of racing is non-negotiable for us.
The post-race result indicates the presence of meloxicam which is commonly used within the industry and is administered as an anti-inflammatory medication post gallop. This treatment was not prescribed to Tokyo Tycoon, making this result a mystery.
We are working very closely and co-operatively with the RIB to ascertain exactly what has happened, and to establish how this has occurred.
There are, in our view, only two possibilities for this to have occurred: either a human error, or deliberate administration by an unknown party. We have CCTV throughout our stable, and this footage is currently being analysed to identify what has occurred. We have shared this data with the RIB.
We feel very disappointed for Tokyo Tycoon's owners who are wonderful friends and supporters of our stable - and for the horse himself, as Tokyo Tycoon proved to be the stand-out 2YO throughout this season.

As this is an ongoing investigation there will be no further comment.

Haha the good old TAB plant Miss J..well if they were professional and did the job properly they would not be criticised....take a look at Racing.com or the coverage out of Sydney...stop settling for a sub standard product and trying to defend them...they are indefensible...not professional at all..if you can accept that then you have very low standards...they need more criticism but most of all they should listen..which at present they seem not to...anyway go back and have a nice hot cuppa and enjoy the rest of your weekend I know I will be....cheers.People dont have to accept a sub standard product just because you say so.

I have one big syndicate with many of the members having 1% share in the horse. These people go to the races, don’t care what each other’s percentage is and have a massive day, spending big money on both the tote and the bar. Why would the clubs not want each and every one of them there no matter what the percentage is?  A lot of these guys with 1 % didn’t even follow racing two years ago but got in the game because of the fact mates were in the horse, they are now full time followers of the game and I’m sure in the future will be taking larger shares in horses… if they never got that experience as an ‘owner’ because they only had 1% I’m sure they wouldn’t be back for more.

Alysha is pretty good too. She rode our mare to win on Melbourne Cup Day at Randwick just 10 weeks ago.
Very very special as her grandparents and my grandparents owned the same farm on the outskirts of Gore even if there was a period of twenty + years between the ownership.
Nottingham Meadows became Nottingham Stud with a son of the great Brigadier Gerard  (Imperial Guard) as the Collett’s first stallion.

I don't see the point of closing Timaru as there are no land assets that can be sold as it is equestrian reserve, better off developing as it has good consistant surface, better than many in the SI
