  1. This happened to me on Saturday night while I was having a punt with a couple of mates at my local bowling club. We had a pool of money which we were betting from, and accumulating slowly. When it was my bet, I placed a $2 mystery quinella on the dogs. The quinella got up, so I finished my beer, waited for it to pay and went to collect (I can't remember what the win showed on the results screen but I think it may have been $12.50 for the quinella). When I scanned my ticket, it came up that I had won $2500. I said to the club attendant "are you sure thats right?" to which she replied "yes" and congratulated me. She got her supervisor who retrieved the money, counted it out and handed it over to me. I went back to the table and showed the boys (who were very excited about the win). We then left the club and split $2000 ($500 each) and spent the remaining $500 that night celebrating and punting further at a different venue. Now, two days later, the bowling club is ringing me up asking to return the money. I don't know whether the bowling club staff stuffed up and didn't see the decimal point making $25.00 look like $2500 or if the TAB stuffed up and didn't put the decimal point in. Either way I have a few problems with this whole scenario that I would like some opinions and advice on what to do. 1) If the bowling club stuffed up, shouldn't they be liable for the mistake as I asked them if it was correct and they said yes. Plus the supervisor didn't pick it up either 2) If it is the TAB's fault for posting an incorrect payout, shouldn't the bowling club take it out with the TAB to recoup their loss? 3) The bowling club has said they have reviewed the footage and wanted to fix this without getting the police involved. Is this just a scare tactic? What could the police do? The money was given to me, I didn't steal it. It was a legitimate ticket and fraud was not an issue. 4) Where do I stand legally to keep the money? Would love some advice or end results of situations from others who have experienced this or similar
