  1. Hey this is another example of the disgraceful record keeping of our organisation. I was wondering today what my favorite up and coming talent, Kerobokan, had been up to as I hadn't seen him race in a while. I Looked on thedogs.co.nz to see what he had been doing and I noticed his last result was P of 7 dogs. After reading the strips report I see that he feel badly and was put down for his own sake. I don't see anything wrong with that, Its (the worst) part of our sport but it does happen. I see his status on the website however is RETIRED. WTF this is so so so bad. The dog raced for us and died doing it and we wont even offer him the dignity of the recognition of his death. DISGRACEFUL. Why Isn't there a public announcement each week of any dogs who were put down or legitamitally retired, with a memorial to the achievements, so that the rest of us can show them the respect the deserve? Thoughts?
  2. How are the Pups doing Gordon? This is a very exciting litter. How are the pups developing?
  3. This dog to me would have gone on to great things. I don't know if he will have it in him now, great great shame. The race on Monday was a completely different dog to the one which won the Auckland Cup 2011.
  4. This was my favorite dog last season, Auckland Cup run was amazing. Does anyone know what the deal is here? I see he hasn't raced since early sept. I would love to see this boy back at his best. Thoughts
  5. Hey guys, There is very little talk on here about the very exciting meeting today. I have taken an all up punt on Rosca and White Air, I know they will face there challenges but i think they both have the class to make it happen. I feel $14 Fixed for Rosca at the TAB is ridiculousness, but hey Ill take it. What is everyone else picking. I'm very excited, best meeting of seen in months. Julian
  6. What are our thoughts on White Air, I really like this dog and his final section was a flyer in the semi.
  7. I don't think this is the right solution at all. We cannot deny the realities of greyhound racing, and blockading ourselves in and hiding the not so nice side of the sport will only result in more backlash. If people want to protest on the grounds that the sport exploits animals for human enjoyment, we can't argue against this. It is a simple fact of the sport. However the same people who share this view will never have their minds changed by those in the industry. Those of us who love greyhounds and racing know that this type of propaganda is heavily one sided and in my opinion should be ignored. But the fact remains that there are some factors which will never be fully controlled such as tripping and checking ect. All that the greyhound industry should be promoting is everything we do to make the sport safer and more humane. This debate is similar to that between science and religion, those against greyhound racing can never see past the obvious disadvantages so the debate is not worth having with these people. shutting the doors at the racetrack though, like the gates of the destiny church, is not the answer.
  8. I have been thinking this also, it would be great to have one of these or if there is one already when and where does it happen.
  9. Well Done on this. 18 into 175 not a bad day in the office for ya.
  10. Very excited for this race and after seeing the most dominant display in the first race from Unprofessional (wow) looks like we are going to have an awesome night of racing. I'v taken this First 4 $5 for 83% 1st: Bigtime Kinvara Jinjawinja 2nd: Bigtime Kinvara Jinjawinja Know Peace 3rd: Inishrush Jinjawinja Know Peace 4th: Inishrush Jinjawinja Know Peace That's how I see it going down. What do others think?
  11. It is hard to argue against Little Mother ever
  12. I see on thedogs.co.nz that they are holding a survey to see who we think should be the greyhound of the year. My vote is with Bigtime Kinvara, I think he's a top athlete and I can't wait to see what he does in the coming years. This is my first year following greyhounds and Bigtime K is one of the reasons my passion has grown so quickly I think. Since watching Bigtime K take out Little mother and hold off Another Dollar for the Auckland Cup my passion has only grown. What are everyone else's thoughts? Who are the other contenders in your eyes and why?
  13. Where do you guys get copies of these races recorded? is it your own collection or can you request them from a TAB archive or something?
  14. Fair Call, agreed. Balance is important. Different strokes ect.
