  1. Grass is FAR too long, needs mowing for silage - absolute embarrassment!!!!! All those people that have worked so hard to get to their dream day and because of some other idiot this day won't happen for them, someone has to be accountable for it in my opinion, but I guarantee no one will take the heat!!!!! FURIOUS!!!!!!
  2. Yes, knowledge and experience to burn there, we need people like him that Constantly produce young people for our industry. Someone thats in it for the love of the sport and not the big time show scene that others are. Not naming any entities in particular..........
  3. I'm not talking about times here, I'm looking at the horses action and willingness?
  4. I don't know if I'm seeing something that's not there but......... please correct me if I'm wrong but......... I watched the replays for Riccarton gallops on the synthetic and it appeared to me that on more than one occasion the horses were not comfortable on in, particularly in the home straight, to my eye they were not keen to completely let down. Jockeys, trainers and owners please clarify this for me??!!!!
  5. Am I the only person FUMING about the whole Waverley raceday situation??????????
  6. Hey team, whats the general rule, I have horses here that are turning themselves inside out with not heading to the track, are horses that have been in full work for a period and not stabled at the track allowed to be transported to the track to be worked under level 4?
  7. Already rang this guy and he doesnt really do them anymore, they are a wee bit expendo $130k +

  12. What was the story in the Oaks? The stewards report is not out yet, jockeys and horses ok?
  13. So are they racing guys, sorry not able to watch tv at mo, out and about.......
  14. yeah well I Normally wean about 6 months, my foal was born on 6 Sep so nice and early and the mare is in foal again so being her first year with a foal at foot just monitoring her condition - she was hard fed the last month - 6 weeks before foaling and they are now eating together too. Thanks guys was much what I thought but just wanted someone to bounce off.
  15. He went real well considering he ran part of his race before he got to the gates...... guess he wasnt used to being led out onto the track like they are there either, Rosie did all she could with the draw and the sectionals the way they were, awesome result just gutted he got pipped the last bit, but they still did us proud
  16. Hey Guys, Just a quick question to see how many days approx everyone weans their foals, or is this another one of those "depends on the mares condition" etc..... There must be a scientific study done re the amount of milk that a mare produces until a certain day, as to whether you are gaining anything leaving the foal on or not. Your opinions please
  17. Sorry Mr Big Stuff you are right it was "Biff" that I meant to be quoting, just saw red thats all............specsavers is probably an option too!!! Seriously though, I understand there is a problem with certain things in the industry but all the moaning in the world aint gonna fix nothing. I dont know how to fix it but please negative comments are not gonna help a hell of alot, it is hard enough to drag your carcass out of the hay in the mornings to carry on at ground level as it is without people making it harder!!!
  18. Yeah well Mr Big Stuff........... your name says it all, all I am saying is lets get some positive feed back and make this industry a joy to participate, stop moaning and change something ( I am not too sure how, but at least I can admit it) Paul has is reasons for leaving the industry and my level of participation is none of your business.
  19. So much positivity NOT!!!! come on guys, if you cant come up with positive comments dont comment at all, get sick and tired of reading all this negative stuff - there are people in NZ like myself trying to make something with what we have and it is not all about the punters and what they think...... they think they have the rough end of the stick, you wanna try making it in this industry, we are here because we love it. We need positive comments and feed back that can maybe help - get sick of hearing stuff that is just downing to the industry, bugger off and make your comments elsewhere

    CWJ

Hey better be careful slinging at the best, lets face it - CWJ is one of the best in the saddle, we havent got alot of new talent coming through behind these riders either, this game is hard. Also if theres a genuine concern for peoples safety let the so called "big boys" take his license off him, dont get personal, nobody knows someones personal issues or needs no matter how mighty they might think they are, stop judging and deal with the supposed issue at hand
  21. Hey Jess, Send the horse to Iain Marks in Te Aroha, I have known Iain and Betty for a long time now and thay are brilliant with horses that have problems, they also have a top rider that is gentle and understanding of the horses individual needs - I have witnessed them with a number of trouble horses and they take the time that they need and also are willing to change their training techniques to suit the specific horse, I have personally given them horses of my own to work with and have been nothing but impressed with the job. I sent them a horse to break in and due to the condition of the horse it took 6 months to get him ready to ride (no fault of Iain's) I thought holy smoke this is gonna cost me, but no they charged one fee to break in a horse regardless of time taken to complete the job, he also DOES NOT send a horse home without it being spot on....... just a thought for you but I would personally vow for the job that they do and the extra work that they will put in if needed. Great trainer/rider combo and are more than willing to go the extra mile. Good luck
  22. What about the owners and trainers guys, once again they are taking the slack. Ya really do get annoyed with this, never used to hear of abandonments - seems that these guys are trying to be clever and its not paying off.......
