I see Nat R is driving him on Friday.  Fair enough, the owner can pick any driver they want but given Sarah O Reilly works for the stable it makes you wonder what she has to do to get some better drives. To be 3rd on the premiership with the lack of quality she gets is an amazing achievement.   Nat does have a great UDR but most of the horses she gets to drive are hot favourites.   

Just seen Addington today on Trackside and guess what. We gotta share with f......dogs. Well I will put a $ or 2 on and stay on trackside 1 and wait till videos on hrnz. Why on a top day have they put Harness racing amongst crap gog racing.

He is VERY outspoken.....but 98% of what he says is VERY informative to the punter.
You are entitled to 'diss' him OLD MAN ....but for 30 years we had to put up with 'yes' men in the Press ....none of whom would criticise or even add constructive criticism in either code .....but Mick adds his two-penny worth and I admire him for that because he has the industry and the punters welfare at heart.

There is no more knowledgeable and opinionated scribe in NZ than Mick Guerin 😀.
Love him or loathe him he is good for the industry as gets the facts out to us whilst others are snoring......so if him and Greg get a gig back on Trackside it will improve the coverage ten-fold.

Saw David Ellis on TV this evening and his support for the deal does give me confidence it could be the game changer we need.   I note they said there will be $10mil for a premier meeting.  Hopefully that will be split between the 3 codes and not just go to Auckland gallops

The media full of left wing loonies hate racing because people get enjoyment from it, it provides jobs and gives the Government a lot of tax. This is the opposite to what these idiots think New  Zealand (not aotearoa) should be about. They obviously live miserable lives and spend a lot of time looking for stories that blame somebody of wrongdoing. Then racing gets coverage.

The mighty SPANKEM off to the retirement paddock too  what a hard workin horse this fella was, bye bye Champ thanks for those awesome memories....

Yes, 2 of the horses in the R60+ race were able to get a start using JD concessons but the tightest assessed horse missed out. If the programmers are wanting to force owners of good horses to sell to Aussie, this is the way to go about it. It may be punters don't like hcp standing starts but at least they can give every horse nominated a start and a fair go . Week after week trotting fields are put together this way  - why not pacers? 

No fixed odds market up yet for Ashburton.  And they wonder why betting figures are going south. Incompetence or deliberately trying to suppress Harness at the expense of thoroughbreds?.   Someone at the TAB needs their ass kicked. 

Eljay he doesn't give you winners anyway, the red hotters he tips adds nothing. They are red hot because everyone is backing them anyway, and when he tips they seem to lose. So create interest and throw something out at a price .. Jason Teaz manages to get a few up.

I think Ricky has become more aggressive in the last few years but as he said once, it’s no good putting them in the race if they don’t have the ability to do some work and still run on.  He’s not really getting too many good ones to drive and so is forced to drive for luck much of the time.   Agree or not, he has been a fantastic driver over the years.  You don’t win 7 Trotting Cups by being lucky.    Agree with your assessment of the other drivers 

Even though tote numbers were not massive most harness punters are now  fixed odds followers. The crowd at the Trots was one of the biggest in years according to a local who was there. When they line the fence 2 and 3 deep  after the post you know you have a crowd so well done to Harness Southland. 

I think it’s great for the top horses to have something to aim for after the Cup meeting.  I love the fact it’s in Southland which has a strong breeding industry.   

Now we have a group one day at Addington and what do we get f.....n crap broken down dogs at Invercargill AND Cambridge .
And whats worse that presenter on trackside with the silent voice.

Well done to Pam Robson (Race Cafe member) and the inimitable Chris Johnson with the 125-1 shot Light Up today at Riccarton. A great piece of training and a wonderful ride by CWJ. They don't come any better than Chris when it comes to nursing horses to victory and them responding for him like no other in a close finish.

What a pack of wankers those judical people are

60 horses  evacuated safely last night and so far no damage to any property. Fire came close to the stabling complex and is being held in check by the firemen despite strong winds. The smoke is fortunately blowing out to sea.

The problem I have is that the driver or trainer gets fined for any mistakes but not the starter
