    100% nomates.
They have no idea what their customers want. I ran a TAB Agency for 10+ years.
Sponsored one of NZs best drivers... Went to a number of TAB functions... Once sat at a table with the marketing department (12 plus me on the table) They asked what I did to market my agency.... Went through a number of things, sponsored greyhound races, sponsored the Wednesday jockeys challenge with Steve Davis and sponsored a driver..... Not one on the table knew the driver AND...... not one of them had EVER had a bet!!!!!
Hickton was CEO and nothing has changed to this day

Well if that's not hypocritical I don't know what it is. It's not the fact you missed a letter out of a word it's the fact you always feel the need to lecture when someone gets a word spelled the wrong way, like live a little, have a bit of fun along the way.
And just so we can clear up your post you didn't leave a letter out, you in fact added a letter in if we wanted to be technical on things.

Amron Boy is probably the dog to beat in the final, he's been competing at the elite level for a long while now, having won his last 5 including a Group 1 and a group 3, plus hes won another Group 1 and ran 2nd in to others, but he can be notoriously slow early at times and miss the jump whereas Postman Pat jumps and runs.
Postman Pat setting the time standard is a great achievement here though, pretty sure the Brisbane Cup is worth 1 mill this year to, 700k or so to the winner.
Hopefully Postman Pat gets clear early and can run out in front. will be an exciting last 100m thats for sure.

Harness followers typically blame everyone else for their woes !
When I last checked Harness was the code that was receiving more than it actually deserved through betting numbers.
Harness turnover slumped some 30 % odd , in recent years ,while greyhound turnover was growing and they were being rewarded with more meetings as a result.
Of course the Doggies now under real pressure to continue ,which should help Harness but does it ?
This weeks Stakes are for a Group 1 night with $30k and $50k races so not your normal meeting or stakes.
Pre -covid times both Domestic turnover and GBR share was Gallops 54% , Harness 27%,Doggies 19%
But overseas betting was Gallops 65% ,Harness 12% , and Doggies 23%.....this explained by the huge number of races imported.
Meanwhile Code Funding was approx Gallops 54% ,  Harness 30 % and Doggies 16%.
A vagary here is that the doggies cost to operate the same as harness ,so harness got nearly 3 x for Stakes.
Over the last 10 years Harness races have decreased every year ...over 2740 domestic in 2013 , 2469 in 2019
The Doggies increased from 5288 in 2013 to 5836 in 2019......they 4933 last year so now on decline too and under threat of extinction..
But total Imported races went from 58141 in 2013 to over 80000 in recent years. Gallops and doggies well ahead here cf Harness.
So doggies not advantaged on Code Funding , but hey , don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.
Some say I work for TAB , but anyone can have a look at the published Reports online !

    RIP Nigel.
    At his second race day ride he was riding a GELDING for my father at Thames.  A 15 year old 7 lb claiming apprentice jockey..  Upon dismounting he told the owner;
"He was going ok until the turn, but then he came in season."
Dad said that boy will be a good jockey.  It was only his second race ride and he had already learned how to talk well.

    I had a TAB agency in the 90's - 2000's. Sponsored a driver for 10 years.
Twice had the Whale to the TAB as a guest tipster. Once on a Thursday @ Forbury and once on a Friday @ Addington.
The punters club got the Pick 6 both nights back in the day when they were guaranteed $100k. Got $35k and $45k plus numerous other collects on W/P, quinella, trifecta, trebles.
All bets selected by the Whale with some input from punters. Both nights were HUGELY successful with substantial turnover increases and great punters club payouts.
He is a harness tragic and a great guy.
That's my experience with him and my opinion
    Cheers.

Very  proud of Tom’s achievements, and looking back, the help from Reon Murtha, Darren Taiquin and others moulded him into the caller he is now.
Graeme Hansen gave him the opportunity originally, thanks to him to.
It doesn’t get much better than Hong Kong racing to ply your trade, but I know deep down, NZ will always be home.

Great bloke Des, I used to venture up to Cornwall Park and play in the Annual Cricket match, Jockeys vs the Press, was always a great day out.
Des always played, Norm Holland captained the Jockeys team, Wayne Woods the Press Team.
Those were the days, the press team had about 4 on the ballot trying to get a game!
Those were the days when the Press box was full, my how things have changed!
Ask a member of the young generation what the Press Box was, their replies would be interesting………
