Totally agree Portfolio!
Hard to believe how average Richard’s results have been over the years since he moved north to Auckland.
you would have thought he would have been one of the leading trainers in Auckland going by his training record when he was training from Kerrytown in South Canterbury.
He trained so many good horses from there and yet nothing really much cop since he was in Auckland, where he seems to mainly train pretty average trotters that go around week in week out.
Has always loved to get his horses on the fence for some reason!
I wouldn't call Pompallier average - 20 wins including the Dominion Handicap and NZ Trotting Championship.
-
I stand to be corrected but I am sure the oldest horse and driver to win a group 1 was Pompelliar and the late Jack Smolenski in the 2007 NZ Trotting Championship.
Pompelliar at nine years and Jack a young seventy three!!!

My filly was having her first start at Te Rapa when the meeting was abandoned due to the running rail falling over .....
Off to Awapuni yesterday for todays meeting................
I'm sure there are many others in the same boat - what a joke NZ racing has become.

What a performance by this beautiful specimen of a thoroughbred - congratulations to all concerned. Love You Xtravagant.

At the end of the day no one hold's a gun against your head to buy a share in a racehorse - it is simply your choice to invest or not.
-
She is a lovely filly who didn't get a go today because of the way race the was run - she was never suspect at anything apart from getting a FAIR run

Noted Horse stopper Bevan Sweeney strikes again.
Bevan has a reputation of stopping the hottest of favourites and he strikes again at Waverley today.
He labels Vibrant Moss the outsatnding bet of the day and makes the comment to Tom Wood " Even we couldn't stop this one."
I chuckled and thought that's the final nail in the coffin now
The $1.60 shot gets trapped on the fence in the trail and gets out too late finishing third.
You have to laugh
I wasn't laughing!!!

He might be be a fine bloke..... He has shafted Gareth Dixon!!!!!!!

I like the atmosphere at Nelson, but having been there for the races on Sunday it is fair to say the facilities are pretty basic. Would require a few marquees etc to host a Jewels meeting - which I suppose is possible..?
They put on a pretty good "do" for their summer meeting with regards to marquees and you can get a very good view from inside the track.

I think from memoryOr his connections but he is a pretty ordinary horse. In defence of Richards driving he has had a lot of ordinary ones in the last few years who have needed to be driven cold to have any hope.Asian Courage is a perfect example.
Not too many cold drives on Pompallier.
Pompalliers's two most notable wins NZ Trotting Championship and the Dominion Handicap were with drivers other than Richard Brosnan.

Congratulations to you Brent & Diane - Well & Truly deserved - long may it last
