Has anyone considered that this all might be the ravings of a lunatic? ' Night rave', well one would have to wonder... Lunatics, as any psychiatric nurse would know, are worse at night, particularly at the new and full moon - is there a pattern here? I for one will be keeping watch....
The appalling vengeancy against GAP , by fatima, (and I give her the small f); extends to prospective owners, foster carers, owners, trainers, and people generally connected to the field or just not at all.
It can be quite random.
I certainly wouldn't care to be her trainer!
Seriously people, this is a woman with a very big axe

Vetting each potential applicant for suitability is not only about the welfare of the dog but more importantly ensuring the breed as a whole don't get bought into disrepute by some halfwit who doesn't understand that greyhound's aren't really like your average dog. Keep up the good work GAP, personally it's frustrating that the waiting list is so long but the upside of that is that most ex racers are at least getting a chance too live the full life they deserve.

One has to realise that there are a limited number of suitable homes available... as a homechecker I am very aware that so many prospective applicants turn out to be unsuitable for many reasons, and believe me, it is not easy turning down any prospective home, but we do have a quite rigorous criteria...and it is based on the welfare of the dog!
And lets face it there are a lot of loonies out there....

GAP was not set up to rehome every greyhound that comes off the track. I wish they could. But every year they are able to rehome more greyhounds. I adopted my first greyhound 6 years ago and at that time people would look at him and ask me "is that a greyhound?' Now they look at him (the best dog in the world, I might add) and say "Is that a GAP dog?" Wow - that's the power of branding!
They then tell their kids these are the dogs we see racing on TV ( a spinoff for the TAB). If every greyhound was cat trainable it would be so much easier to rehome them. Unfortunately, this is not the case - we are dealing with dogs that have been bred to chase for thousands of years. However if Gareth Morgan has his way, it may make life easier.

Am aboslutely astounded that that so many of you have taken the ravings of a mad person as Gospel. If this was written anywhere else but the dreaded social media, it would be slanderous. Just read her feedback on TradeMe, letters to the Auckland CIty Council, her interaction with the dog ranger's in Feilding and many GAP owners can supply you with copies of her vindictive and vile emails. Truly, was the post written by someone of sound mind?
We are all here to find homes for Greyhounds and your support of GAP, rather than kicking it in the guts, is needed. Bag Jacqui Eyley all you like, but she started GAP. GRNZ would still be stuttering over how should we find homes for greyhounds? Nearly 1500 greyhounds have been rehomed and with your help it will be a lot more.
