  5. Approx a small select group of about 4 were working on the case. When the raids were conducted Police are called in from other areas to assist for the operation and are only breifed just before the raid. That is were you are getting your no. 80 from. So the answer to you question is yes you are incorrect.
  6. And a young up and comming trainer from the beach
  7. Have heard that this whole episode/saga may have been initiated by the shady head to head betting which has since been discontinued. Very easy to manipulate.
  8. At least 4 arrested for race fixing All big names NOT Purdon Will rock harness racing to the core

  11. I disagree strongly that these events are a novelty. They may be new to NZ but not the rest of the world where straight out trotting reigns supreme. If you watch races from Scandinavia and especially France you will see many monte races on a programme racing for equal or better prize money. Horses were not born with carts on them and trotted freely before restraints with harness were placed on them. The great trotter Greyhound voted trotter of the century raced ocassionally in monte races so it has a long history. NZ is only getting up to play with the world and I hope they continue to promote them and trainers support them. Have seen several live in Aus and they are a great spectacles and the same as any betting medium when you follow them and who are the better riders. My advice back any with a female rider with a Scandinavian sounding name as they have done it before many times.
  12. Yes. a very fast horse with gate speed to burn. Run 1.50s several times. Not too sure about it beginning well thou and 2 miles very much in doubt. Never had a stand start in its life. The FFA friday thought more its go or even a 2600 mobile. But funny things have happenned and carnt get Steel Jaws amazing front running cup win out of my mind. If it pings to the lead who knows how long it can stay there especially if the AS have if for a few weeks prior. Not for me thou. Im firmly in the other other Aussie camp. The Bull.
  13. And to further emphasize just how got she is, at a low grade meeting on Monday at Horsham she had horses in six of the 8 races . SIX winners 100%. Amazing feat this season. Not just all the best underage horses but a lot comming thru the grades so looks ominious for a long time into the future for other Victorian trainers. Maybe some should move to NZ
  14. Picks for The Horseman today 25th. Hope he got plenty R1. # 5 Percy Mason R2. #6 Graff R3. #3 Danawi R 4. #9 Avilius

  16. Paul Nairn. Grandson of the late great Jack Litten. The colours that Caduseus and many more worn. Kept to the forefront now by the string of Nairns great trotters.
  17. Just checked my jottings on my own paper and had 14 but when I posted yes I put 7 which was the race number I had beside the 14. Dont get old and blind. Lucky I backed the right number then.
  18. Hi PJ, Being a trotting man I need all the galloping points I can get and by my count I got 68.10 yesterday with the paltry 3.60 giving me 71 odd but only have 40 in the score card so think you may have missed my main winner Showtime. Thanks.
  19. Talk about dominance. 9 BreederCrown Semi finals. Emma Steart 6 Mark Purdon 1 Havent heard any complaining from Aus about this. Say no more!
  20. PF should be too good in her heat however AM is up against a very smart one in Centenario and Emma Stewart is even more dominant in Aus especially Victoria than Purdon is in NZ. No mention of Duplicated and one of his castoffs (Our) Golden Goddess should almost win. Looks like a favs night with most of the fancied runners drawing well and as they do in NZ at the Jewels they will all be trying tonight. Multis look the order.
