Not saying they tried to cheat but facts are they presented horses to race with higher levels than allowed with banned drugs in the systems , which mean yes guilty under the rules. Your very quick to say it could be feed contamination and yes well it could be but could also be just as easy to say maybe they tried to get away with something and got caught.?  All I know is that the test have tested positive for banned substances and as a trainer its your job to make sure you line up free of them, or under the allowed limits. Anytime a horse tests positive it's bad news for our racing game so the sooner the feed contamination mix ups or failed drug cheats  are out of the game the better. Again I'm not saying they cheated but they have presented horses that's have failed to comply with the rules.

If Brosnan wanted to get a few more winners, he should just hand the reigns to someone else, no need to worry about drugs. In fact, some of his drives you might think he needs testing, not the horse.

Still, we know what will happen, must have been a bad batch food, ate a fence post, shared drink with a cow.

Pretty sure if this Cambridge  meeting was held at a grass track as has been the case for god know how many years I’m certain they’d have got a lot more than the 80 odd noms for the meeting.

UDR rating is ok but doesn’t lead a full picture as Say a hobbie driver could be driving horses who would be highly ranked by many  to finish in the bottom 1/3 of the feild yet they may often drive it very well and finish say 4th 5th or 6th so has probly driven it very well to finish higher than many expect but because they haven’t run in the first 3 the udr is .000 for that drive. Some horses Barrring accident just have no chance in some fields doesn’t mean the driver has always driven it poorly

Are you suggesting that’s trainers on these types of private tracks have never thought of the leader rolling off the fence  to allow a horse to slip up the inside and create a passing lane type  effect on a private track. Surely you don’t think  trainers are that simple they never teach a horse different things

In reality just not having things go her way. Nothing wrong with the drive from a punters perspective. She was not going to get anywhere sitting at the back,so she gave it a chance by moving up.  Problem with that was to go around them meant it had to be that much better than the others,or it had to get handy without over exerting itself. That did not happen.,but she at least gave it a shot.  When you draw near the outside and don't have the gate speed to cross to the rail early, then the type of run she got last night is always on the cards no matter who drives them.

Post where i said i did not punt much on harness. Got plenty on Laz in the cup but then again i know how to get it on unlike you
My opinion but saying you had to continually hit a horse to get a result is mediocre at best given today's whip rules which we all know you disagree with
Also mediocre to suggest the RIU only punish junior or part time drivers, suggests favoritism/corruption

$95 plus extras a day ? I still think well worth it for the right horse, obviously they only take on decent horses so your lucky enough to have a horse they a willing to train i say jump at the chance

Thoughts on Sherryl Wiggs drive in the first race tonight? The horse galloped at the start and continued galloping to the winning post - 200m. I thought the rule was that if a horse gallops for 150m it is automatically disq (mind you I may be wrong with pacer because I am not always "on the money" nor a know all). If it applies to pacers her drive thereafter was a shocker. Catches the field and then proceeds to go around it without even having a rest after making up so much ground. Luckily a horse comes out in front of her and gives her the one-one. Then for some reason she decides to do a Dexter at the 600 but (I wonder why) after the horses earlier efforts it fails to loop the field. Never mind I will keep bashing the horse right to the finish (Brodie would be impressed). Doesn't she know there is always another day. Looks like she lost her rag and just wanted to punish the horse - pathetic.

I'm certain the system will work and help keep horses here and racing bigger fields. Time and a few tweaks will solve everything I'm sure

I don't know why he needs to comment at all but I guess he knows what he is doing. Seems a nice bloke on tv,but why get drawn into this.  I always remember what he said when nicky chilcott had her court case. At the time he said that while chilcott was unwise to order medicines (one being itpp which is similar to epo),over the internet, which could be deemed prohibited substances on raceday, that did not make her a cheat as he went along with the story that chilcott only intended to use them in training, not raceday.  Technically correct I suppose but having pushed that line of thought at the time, its  hard to give too much weight to comments he makes when discussing positives.  Just my opinion.

So the plot thickens a little bit more for the offending stable. Stable visit from our bold RIU in recent times who have had previous positive tests in years gone by.

Interesting thought. Those in the galloping code would be shocked to suggest deliberately curating tracks to create a track bias.
Rather than alter the footing would increasing cambers help the situation at all?

You forgot the no passing lane and the finest climate for evening entertainment close to the city centre. Whether they are going good as an industry is questionable.
On another note, RWWA and NZRB both totaled profits and subsequent distributions to the racing industry of about the same value to EOFY 2016. Despite this somehow their thoroughbreds race for at least twice as much at the Saturday meeting as a minimum and they race for $18k as a minimum base excluding conditioned events on a Friday night at the magnificent GP. Not sure how this works or why the massive discrepancy..... Maybe due to the one feature track per code with the smaller country tracks running at lesser stakes supporting and feeding the city meets rather than the even spread across the board like here in NZ. As much as it hurts to say it that is one tick for centralization.

They rule as it stands is ok and simple enough to understand. Sure there will be first time offenders still getting caught but when you see drivers getting charged 3-4 times those drivers either aren't learning ,don't care or are just plain stupid . It's not like the rule says 3 hits before the 400 4 hits before the 300 and so on . It's maximum 10 from the 400m to the post . Maybe the suspension for for repeat offenders could be longer

Currently nothing has been officially released -correct me if I'm wrong.Where is the correct process?
Takes the I out of the RIU for mine......
