I'm not sure I follow what you're saying but I wonder if the following helps. The scoreboard only shows the highest individual tally of any one of those "any other drivers".  So if Sailesh Abernethy won a race and that took him to three points but some other person on the "any other driver" list had 4 points, then the scoreboard would show 4 points and wouldn't explicitly mention Abernethys 3 points. That doesn't mean that Abernethy didn't get the 3 points, it's just reflecting the fact that someone else has a greater tally (because at the end of the day if you have backed "any other", you don't care which of them wins as long as one of them does).  If Abernethy won the next race then you would see the scoreboard show 6 for any other driver.

There were enough nominations to hold three trot races (as usual).  This should have been done at the expense of the amateur race which as it turns out will only have six starters whereas there are emergencies in each of the trots.

A poll conducted on Twitter - oh well then it must be gospel.
A poll conducted by other trainers will have Allstars domination as 99% of the trouble.
Relax and enjoy the outstanding achievements that Mark, Nats and the team are producing. We won't see this again for a long long time.
I guess Lazarus winning all those Derbies, cups and Group !'s must really piss you off too.
Funny you never comment on Monbet winning all the big trotting races.
Did Mark P do something to rub you up the wrong way in your earlier life?

Looking at Waipa grass track fields race 6-7-9 all very similar race bands. why do clubs just not pick the lowest 10 ratings then the middle 10 and highest 10 and make 3 even feilds on ratings . With a rating system supposed to be in place why do clubs mixed them up. They 3 fields line up with - lowest to highest rating of Race 6 ratings difference 40-56 , race 7 40-56 and race 9 has 40-60 why cant they figure out how to programmed races on the ratings properly ?

hsvman reacted to Basil in Smolda!
At the risk of upsetting the applecart by starting a topic that's actually about racing (as opposed to bookies, stipes, drivers, and other whinge-worthy subjects), let me be the first to say what an outstandingly brave effort by Smolda to win the ID Grand Final last night.  Gave almost all of them a start, gave Hector JJ every advantage, and was still going away from him at the line.
Spare a thought for Franco Nelson's connections though.  With luck like he's had in this series, they wouldn't want to bother buying lotto tickets at the moment.
One slight question mark.  Smolda's emphatic victory does make one wonder about the quality of the field.  After all, this was a horse who only 4 weeks ago could only run 4th in the Cup after getting a cozier run than he got last night, and whose trainer has repeatedly stated he's not going as well as last year.  The owners of Titan Banner and Tiger Tara may be regretting not going (not to mention, of course, Lazarus).

They carry on about public perception so much, if the public read the stipes reports now they see what 7 people already charged for excessive , Surely that's not a great look yet with the old rule none would've been charged ,

Brodie very good point. The RIU seem to be targeting Junior Drivers for sure. It is up to the JCA Panels to be more consistent in their findings and penalties. Perhaps they defer too much to the advice and recommendations of the RIU Stewards?

I understand there is no use questioning the stipes and just have to accept that they are right and take their ruling. I do wonder, and I say this facetiously, if they are on a bonus for convictions.
I thought the old days when Peter McKenzie was the stipe and ruled with an iron hand were long gone. Perhaps, his handbook has been found in an old locker.
Look, all we want in racing is to get a fair and consistent hearing and to be treated equally, regardless of experience or abilities.

One thing I know is the stipes can intimidate young driver and at times put words or trick them into admitted to a charge, trouble is now you have stipes like  nick ydgren , Scott wallis , Shane Renault and Brady jones all starting become more prominent stipes trying to rule the drivers and tell them what they should or shouldn't be doing but when you look at there records as drivers before they become stipes they were woeful, you should not have people in charge of drivers when at best they weren't even close to cutting it as a driver themselves. As they seem to like to charge easy prey when they can trick them into admitted stuff but when they try charge a senior horseman the likes of tony maurice mango dexter organge type drive unless it's 100% the drive is guilty they won't really try, but a junior who's 50/50 chance they try nd get them .

How the hell does j markam get a 4 day suspension in the last at geraldine yesterday, it's clear to see the Dunn trained runner with matt purvis driving strikes the wheel  of the runner in front  of him  ( you can tell as john morrison looks down numerous occaisions and then just as the pace eases a short time after  the tyre comes of the rim and lags  behind the cart  carried by nui toc tien and the last horse ( j markam ) who is just getting up to trail nui toc tien stands in the loose wheel  and gallops and also colapse the wheel. To me the stipes and jca have got this completely wrong, Matt purvis was angling inwards trying to move closer to the rails clip the wheel and what happens after that is the result of him. Jeremy was simple going up to trails and a split second after the tyre come away from the rim his horse stands in it, yet he gets four days suspension and Matt purvis talks his was out of it blaming the horse was keen, if it was the keen why was his trying angle in rather that staying outside the horse who's wheel he hit. One of the worst decisions I've ever seen and a another shocker to add to the Telly of bad stipes calls recently

The palmy one was a disgrace as well not long after the line u see him turn and laugh with the driver that won it .clearly his horse was under a strangle hold the horses head was almost back against its neck, just after the line he loosens the reins and it in front jogging with a head stretched out not restrained like the last 150m of the race

Hrnz try to be proactive instead of reactive to the animals rights people but as your say it's a backwards step and a lot of people will start putting there punting dollars elsewhere. Over summer on the grass tracks there will a few poeple getting charged with this new rule and that will Help the animals rights people as they will see a lot more excessives use charges and even tho it's not as bad as a current excessive use charge they'll still see that wording and want to dig there knifes into the harness game.
