Another driver who does not seem to be able to or want to drive within the rules. Not the first time for him on this charge?.Well done to RIB stipes

MOTOR MOUTH - driver D Simpson admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein and with more than a wrist flicking motion on one occasion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Simpson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 8 October 2023 (12 weeks). In determining this penalty the Adjudicative Committee took into account Mr Simpson's recent record in relation to this Rule.

Watching NZ harness recently we can all watch the first 200m, then watch an episode of Coronation St, and turn back to SKY to watch the last 400m
Whenever J Dunn is in front they go so slow…. He puts his wedding ring back on quicker…..
Running 33/34 quarters is one reason Australians don’t like betting on the substandard hand hand hand up NZ Harness Racing………

I get your point but would Mangos have mouthed off like this if it was Tony Herlihy driving the other horse and not Miss Chilcott? No, I don't think he would have. And I don't think any man should abuse a women, especially some of the words he used to her. He should have got three months.

Can't argue with that logic (although my predictions weren't confined to winter months)
I wonder why all the NRL Clubs aren't based in the one city as that would save heaps of travel costs as well
If we force all trainers to train at Addington that would cut costs even more (oops, there's no training facilities at Addington)
Let's talk again in 10 years when we are wondering why there's no interest in racing from anyone in the areas where there is no racing, and very quickly, no training of horses
I'd use the gallops as an example, an example only
When Nelson was closed for gallops meetings (and given the travel costs it was hard to mount a defence) there was a good guy called Peter King-Turner who trained there, and on top of the ones he trained he had interests in many other horses with other Trainers
Within a year of the closure he had no horses in training, no ownership of horses and he no longer punted; I think all his spare went into fuel for a jet boat from memory
You take something out of sight completely and sooner, rather than later, the interest wanes

It's pretty obvious that CJ is giving stipes the middle finger and he has no intention of changing his whip style. He's been suspended and fined so many times for the same offence but keeps on doing it. Why? Can he keep paying fines and being suspended indefinitely? It's a battle he cannot win so he should change and drive within the rules or if he cannot do that retire from driving.

Not sure about that. They are clearly being consistent as he clearly breaks current rules.

The first part of the race was a joke
Natalie hand up give up with a round to go

Have a look at the history, these owners who move there horses from one cheat when they are caught to the next cheat thats caught. Time for real lovers of the sport to pull their heads out of the sand. When you have trainers who all of a sudden go from nothing to Udr's of.6500 and.5111 making even Mark Purdon look like novices, taking horses who have been unable to win a race in 30 starts to in weeks win by 10 lengths and there is nothing to see hear. Bullshit. Massive news soon to break from Aussie regarding the miracle work of certain trainers and exactly the same is happening here. Does the industry wake up now or wait to it's to late. The silence from woodham is deafening but not surprising

Well when these low lifes have the support of people high up in the industry of course they think they will get away with it, when you have scumbags like Ken Spicer lobbying to have Matt Anderson being able to return to the game after being caught dealing drugs and then convicted in bashing and strangling a woman what else do you expect. Then he is caught working horses for burrows  when he is disqualified and they both get nothing but a warning. There is even worse to come, much worse. With crooked bastards running the game why wouldn't these maggots try it on. Spicer, woodham and co are enablers for all of this

What is it with drivers at Addington when J Dunn or B Orange get to the front the races become a snail pace boat race
At least watching the country races over the NY they were competitive events

Being treated as second class citizens is just not on.
Otaki and Tauherenikau in particular have limited horse facilities for even one code, let alone two.  We shouldn't diss either venue though as I think it is great that these clubs make the dual code meetings happen and let's face it, crowds flock to both.
As far as the venue hireage being steep is concerned, there must be funding options available to combat this.  From what I can see Wingatui are very good at funding improvements to amenities and events and could give a lesson or two to other clubs.
There is a way around every problem.  One aspect I have a problem with is constant negativity.  We can leave that to those in charge.
There is a lot in racing to be thankful for.  I'd just like a good clean out at the top in all codes, I'd like to see some good old fashioned rolling up of the sleeves, and some much sought after common sense and grass roots mentality applied.
    It's actually not rocket science.

Unlike jockeys the drivers go to the stables to get the horses many work either gearing up and in gearing  horses  and spend very little time in the jockey drivers room. I think you're over exaggerating that it would be a problem. On a lot of the grass circuits the drivers even just get changed at the stables.

Well said hsvman - totally true - maybe on a cold winters night at Forbury ( as an example ) there may be a few more drivers in the room than usual but

Wingatui runs a highly successful dual code meet. Harness and gallops have turn about one by one.
Not this crap that they do at Tauherenikau and Otaki where the "poor cousins" are made to start early and then move out. There is no reason whatsoever it couldnt be done in the North where a race could be run every 20 mins. Harness gallop harness gallop.
The fact Te Awamutu isnt even considered as a racing option by the cambridge based harness club is a farce  Course rental being the most used rhetoric however, we all know its the fact the bar and food money made at cambridge is the sole reason and why they cant be honest to say that is just plain wrong.Owninf the local bar and having control of race day food options at Cambridge is the sole reason.
Te Awamutu have even offered a reduced rental but Cambridge are not interested.

Groups 1 should be ffa . They are our elite races and the best horses who ever has them so be able to win them without being disadvantaged. Grp1 races should be won by the best horses on the day not the horses who have a 20-30m head start. General weekly are fine for handicaps but if everyone strives  for a good horse to race in the best races only then to be handicapped out of it what’s the point .
