    The ATC  Auditor's, BDO don't trust their PR either;
"Material Uncertainty Related to Going Concern
We draw attention to Note 1(b) to the financial statements, which indicate that the Group incurred a net deficit from continuing operations of $6.8m during the year ending 31 July 2023 and, as at that date, the Group's current liabilities exceeded it's current assets by $47.3m. As stated in Note 1(b) these events or conditions, along with other matters as set forth in Note 1 (b) indicate that a material uncertainty exists that may cast significant doubt on the Groups ability to continue as a going concern. Our opinion is not modified in respect of this matter."
The ATC have included a list of all their financial members at the end of the 2023 accounts, they seem to be saying that NO decisions were made without the support of these people so don't blame the directors!

If only it were that easy Idol mate…..
The simple answer is, there is no simple answer. Times change, and people with it. Many more options now for consumers to spend their entertainment dollars….Cinemas, Concerts, Restaurants, Warriors, Friday night football etc than years ago. I remember some people at the ATC back in the 90’s moaning about the attendances and “why don’t we get 10-15,000 anymore ?” ……thinking back further it was one of the few places you could get a drink in those days and that was the main contributor to the throngs at the Park….!
This pic was taken at the ‘99 Cup Carnival which Christian Cullen won. That’s what star status can do, they would kill for a crowd like that now.
We can’t hope to compete with 30m over the ditch, and the Australian appetite and betting psyche is much different to ours so not surprising any decent horses head that way to new owners and better stakes. Throw in declining foal crops, lack of leadership, disenchanted owners and punters, economic malaise and voila……and HRNZ pissing funding up against a wall as CMN has shown will get us nowhere in the current environment either.

They have rental income of $3-4m a year from retail spaces under the apartment buildings and also from auckland rugby union.
The tab at the club generates the biggest turnover in nz.
    They have other income.
Most of you do not know what you are talking about .
    What would you have done
Pure Steel you do not know what you are talking about.
Number of people going to ATC dropped when casino was built and young people have plenty of options
Having Cambridge race on a Thursday and Auckland on a Friday is a killer for fields.
I go to most meetings and after 50years have seen a lot of changes
The people in charge have a tough role but i get sick of people putting the boot in most of you would do no better

Fine if you accept no one will attend. Seriously limits it to local population.
Aucklanders are never going to drive 45m to an hour depending on motorway traffic to get there.
They don’t go now when it is in the middle of town…..
Seems only a matter of time before AP goes completely though.

Ohokaman got a reaction from wph in Hobsons Pledge is reasonably happy .
Really quick note - Janet has had another victory!
The Real Estate Authority's application for an order that Janet Dickson put up $15,000 in security to pay the REA’s costs if they win has been DENIED by Justice Grau in the High Court.
The REA tried to argue that Janet Dickson doesn't have the means to pay costs should the case go against her and suggested that Hobson’s Pledge’s fundraising efforts indicated this.
    Thankfully, the judge disagreed.
The REA have badly underestimated the frustrations of not only their own licensees, but also the strength of feeling on the matter in wider New Zealand. We saw in the response to our emails just how fed up supporters like you are with the forced indoctrination going on in workplaces.
On a personal note, I was really pleased to see that Hobson's Pledge is making a difference and has ensured that Janet is able to fight off these spurious litigious attempts to outspend her by an REA that has clearly lost its way.
This judgement demonstrates just how much merit there is in pursuing this judicial review. It is in the public interest and engages issues of rights protected under the Bill of Rights.
Of huge interest to us was the revelation in the judgement that there are 92 other real estate agents objecting to the imposition of the Te Kakano cultural training course! Incredibly, the REA tried to persuade the judge that this was not relevant because it is only “a small number”.
Janet is not alone as the REA would like her to think. This information should give confidence to any other real estate agents who would like to speak out but have been suppressed by the threat of job and licence loss. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if that is you.
New Zealanders should be able to go to work without having highly politicised cultural ideas forced on them. No one should fear losing their livelihood because they don't agree with their employer's Treaty politics.
    The fight goes on!
    Thanks for your ongoing support,

If you saw the start Pete, she was slow anyway and Collett immediately went closer to the fence from the draw to save extra ground.
Only in the straight did she get clear air, and rattled home despite being held up…1400m should suit perfectly.

This is what the riders thought of their mount's performance in the Golden Slipper Stakes.
1st – LADY OF CAMELOT (Blake Shinn) It was very exciting. I was getting held up there for a bit, but I just had to bide our time and wait for the opportunity to present and when it did she really let down well. I had the horse to quicken and we just needed the gap and she was great. I'm so happy.
2nd – COLEMAN (Kerrin McEvoy) Huge run by him. Great training effort by Matty. He had to come up to Sydney, back up, had the little foot issue. He felt great the horse, lovely individual. I thought I was the winner at the 300m, he gave a nice kick and Blake just got the splits. Too good the last three or four strides. Brilliant effort by him and by Matt.
3rd – STORM BOY (Ryan Moore) Didn't begin as cleanly as I would have liked. Had to switch my run toward the inside which wasn't ideal. He's a very talented horse. Didn't have the rub of the green today. Probably improve when he goes a bit further.
4th – TRAFFIC WARDEN (Craig Williams) For a horse who is still developing, his performance to run fourth today was exceptional.
5th – MANAAL (Jason Collett) She has gone great. Just the barrier draw really. If she draws a gate she is closer and closer in the finish.
6th – STRAIGHT CHARGE (Tim Clark) I thought it was a brave performance on speed. I felt the winner at the 300m but he still ran really well.
7th – ENEEZA (Damian Lane) She ran super. She is so honest, just had to give some ground from the start and poor barrier. Ultimately I couldn't pick them up. She finished strongly.
8th – SWITZERLAND (James McDonald) He just came off the bridle a long way from home. I think he has come to the end of it.
9th – HOLMES A COURT (Tom Marquand) He went forward into a nice position, relaxed good and ran a solid race.
10th – DUBLIN DOWN (Hugh Bowman) He paid the price for the wider barrier. I was proud of his effort. I thought he had enough at the furlong but is one to follow into his three-year-old career.
11th – FULLY LIT (Sam Clipperton) He ran a really good race. Very brave and have a good kick. Just felt the pinch late.
12th – RUE DE ROYALE (Chad Schofield) I thought he ran very well. He found it a bit quick in the first half but he came off the bridle and quickened nicely. More suited over 1400m.
13th – PROST (Adam Hyeronimus) I thought there was merit to the run. He got back and settled nicely but I felt the speed increased for him when they came out of the chute. It sent him spinning a bit until we got to the furlong really when he made ground late.
14th – BODYGUARD (Mark Zahra) Just didn't finish off today.
15th – SHANGRI LA EXPRESS (Regan Bayliss) He got into a lovely rhythm out in front, had his ears pricked. Just had to come towards the middle of the track. He got a little bit lost out there. Probably a little bit disappointing overall.
16th – HAYASUGI (Jamie Kah) Lucky we got around in the end. She nearly fell over out of the gates and nearly fell over again. A non event today.
