  1. Agree Biff. I don't see why we should suffer, in any of these events you describe, because of unfair treatment. The agreement needs to be reciprocal, or there isn't one.....May of course is under huge pressure re immigration particularly with those coming from Europe, and it seems we are getting caught up in it. Not unusual though. My son is looking to work in the US ( he is engaged to a Californian lass and hopes to marry later this year ) and it is not easy....funnily enough Australians working there say it is a piece of cake because they enter under different rules....
  2. Two of these summarise NZ Racing....ironic eh...?
  3. You had better hope Wellingtonians are saving their pennies for Cup Day Liz...or things will be looking grim. And marketing and promotion has never been a strongsuit of Clubs, I've been involved with a few, and until they stop seeing it as a waste of money or "unnecessary evil", things won't change. It does work, it is measurable and can be cost effective....providing you know what you are doing.....
  4. Bloody awful run Pete...trainer was obviously correct.....
  5. Dillon adds his ten cents worth.... http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11779258
  6. Gee those aerial shots down the straight aren't doing much for you are they..?? The crowd looks very sparse for a Premier Day.....Racing on the up clearly....
  7. Absolutely Hesi. The multiple duplication of roles, multiple levels of seniority/ responsibility ( using that word loosely ) and the apparent attempt to control the media channels and content all points in that direction. Simple question - Is it money well spent...??? On the results to date, you would have to say we could use it better elsewhere..
  8. Yes. Media and Corporate Propaganda. You have to wonder what she's been doing too given the current situation.
  9. R1- 3 R2- 3 R3- 5 R4- 3 R5- 14 R6- 5 R7- 1 R8- 1 R9- 2 BB
  10. Head of Broadcasting Talent New Zealand Racing Board April 2013 – Present (3 years 10 months)Auckland Responsible for the execution and development of the NZRB Broadcasting vision, as the leader of a large team of talented television and radio presenters, and commentators, working across three nationwide television and radio channels. The portfolio includes staffing national outside broadcast operations, studio operations, radio, and all media training for on-air staff. I am hugely passionate about content across multi-media platforms, and developing high performing people. This role reports to the GM - Broadcasting along with three other Heads of Department. So she is responsible for the high quality presenters we now have...?? Better off at Vodafone I'd say......
  11. Doubt it Admin, but give them time, see what they come up with...
  12. If that is true, and I have my doubts, then it is a complete waste of time. Most of these people, certainly the commentators, are perfectly capable of handling the media, and have been for some time, so why they see the need for yet another Manager is just recruitment gone mad. If the role is to improve Trackside presenters, I would have thought they should have already sorted that..who trained them before they went on air...?? Were they trained at all I hear you ask, and a reasonable question.. I'd bet she will be getting Racing more into mainstream media wherever possible, getting "feelgood" stories and any good news ( real or imagined ) out there via her contacts, particularly at TV3. We saw an example of that last night with the segment on Barbara Blackie. John Allen obviously sees the need to change perceptions....this is just the start.
  13. And he/she is content in the knowledge that if they get sick drinking too much of that "best priced coffee", they are covered...
  14. Wouldn't be PC enough Hesi....I'd be telling some of these "people" where to go......
  15. Don't worry, they are advertising for more on the website, including People Operations Administrator and Recruitment Advisor. The chain of command here goes : General Manager People Head of People Operations People Operations Administrator Senior Recruitment Advisor People Operations Co-Ordinator People Data Analyst They are taking the piss aren't they......what do these people actually do....???! And we wonder why we have no money......
  16. She doesn't start there until March.
  17. As opposed to.... https://www.punters.com.au/news/NZ-jockey-mistakes-laps-_156420/
  18. There you go, first story on TV3 tonight about Barbara Blackie...
  19. The dam of champion Black Caviar and All too Hard. Has been a great broodmare and huge loss for Gilgai. https://www.racenet.com.au/news/130220/Death-confirmed-of-Black-Caviar's-dam
  20. The title is "Media Personnel Manager"....I would think she will be the liaison between mainstream media and NZRB. Another way to spin "feelgood" stories......
  21. Interesting comment under the article... "NZRB is the most depressing place I have ever worked..." She doesn't appear to have any Racing expertise, but maybe they will try to get more positive stories into the media.
  22. Don't believe it....Don Fuge won a race....by 15 lengths......??!! 26 lengths from the winner at the weekend, and beats it by 34 today...??!
  23. Jason presumably NM. Unless George comes down and Aaron or Bruce do Ellerslie...?
  24. It's only feed contamination Leggy.....
