  1. Yesterday's issue of the Best Bets covers today's and tomorrows meetings (Friday) and the next Best Bets is not until Thursday next week. Alan has this weekends fields in PDF covering Thames, Woodville, Central Otago, Greymouth (Sun)plus trots at Wkto and Roxburgh (Sun). Refer above if you want to get these.
  2. This is your reference: ie NGH .( R3 Ellerslie ,Boxing Day ) 4 days to commence after racing on the 1st Jan 2015 Compare that to " Pumper " 1 month suspension .. There is no comparison. But don't let the facts get in the way of your story. My original reply remains valid.
  3. Hey Pogo Enjoy your posts. All the best for the New Year. Are you popping around to Boris and Zelda's with a bottle or two tonight?
  4. Well you certainly don't live up to your site name of Integrity. Comparing NGH's carless riding charge against Jim Cassidy's improper riding charge is stupidity!! An improper riding charge is a serious offence and normally carries a 2-3 month suspension and if you want to talk about leniency Cassidy was the one who received it. Due to mitigating cicrcumstances he got one month only. Compare apples with apples instead of the rubbish above.
  5. I agree Pogo. Don't know where to start. There are just so many.
  6. I use touch tone. Quick, effcient and no problems at all.
  7. Sad news indeed. Fantastic race horse and super sire. RIP O'Reilly.
  8. "your slugs wont win anything worthwhile from 2000 mr up now the european imports have arrived, IF they do they wont be trained in NZ , you can back that in". Don't you believe it. We will be over cleaning up again in Sydney in the Autumn. See anything with (NZ) after it's name just get on son.
  9. Fair suk of the sav Blue. Why would we want to breed OZ type horses that faint if they have to run past 1200m? You can have your Dash For The Cash dodgem race Pogo. We are quite happy coming over and cleaning up your Derbies, Oaks, Queen Elizabeth etc etc. I suppose you Ozzie blokes relate to these speed horses though as quite a number of your Ozzie sheila's have said you Ozzie boys are the same in the sack, all over in seconds , whereas they love us Kiwi lads with our superior stamina and strength.
  10. Fasthorse has taken up residence on Channel 2 posting his usual stuff under the name of One 2 Many. They very quickly realised it was Fasthorse and funnily enough he gets the same flak there that he got here. Surprise surprise.
  11. What!! Are the police idiots!! If he put the horse in the cab with him there would be very little room for the driver, block the vision and if the horse became unsettled could cause the driver to have an accident. Where else would you put the horse on that truck?
  12. Cheers Guys Looks like the TAB f***ked up this morning. #**#* Reinstated and at $7.00. The nom will come!
  13. Craig Grylls also not riding today.
  14. Hmm... Article posted on NZTR website yesterday afternoon at 3:49 (still there) that she has been scratched from the Wellington Cup in preference for the Thorndon Mile and she is in great order. TAB didn't have her in their Thorndon Mile Futures market yesterday. This morning they have included her showing as (N/N) and showing her as scratched. Sold??????
  15. Since man has decided to take the place of God and started to water tracks especially very close to raceday there have been more and more issues with racing surfaces. Over watering in the last 48 hours of race day has caused a lot of consternation. You can't take it off if you over water and man made irrigation is not applied evenly. This has seen inconsistent patches and causes severe track biases because it is not applied evenly. We have even seen the farcical situation of Riccarton irrigating a heavy track.
  16. Don't know the form down there well enough to be of any assistance to you Cubes as I would only be guessing. Have an enjoyable day.
  17. They have going the way I would have if I had owned her...The G1 Thorndon Mile. Winning this race would be much more valuable on her CV plus she will only be third up. A good 1600m at Trentham is like 2000m elsewhere also.

    BYO

The no BYO and $20.00 gate charge at Te Rapa this month kept a lot of people away. Numbers well down on last year.
  19. Probably get shot down but... Yet again we see the same winners time after time in these Fashion In The Field events at the races. They have become a increasing farce. I see Charlotte Moor won yet again on Boxing Day walking off with $30,000 in prizes backing up from winning on Myers day at the Melbourne Cup meeting and winning Wellington Fashions In the Field earlier in the year. (Any others this year?) Probably looking at $100K in prizes this year alone with (just something Mummy and I threw together). Oh and sister Olivia just happened to win the Derby Day Fashions In the Field in March to go along with her other wins also. These sisters have been creaming it for at least the last five years in these things and have probably collectively won in excess of $500k. There are others who have done the same thing in these events. Personally I have no interest in these events and wouldn't bother walking across the birdcage to even look at one being held. However I have friends in Auckland who only go on Boxing Day and Derby Day (the wife works in the fashion industry) just to watch these events. They have no interest in the horses or having a bet, the races just a distraction for them in the running of Fashions In The Field. So, have these things become too big?, how much to they contribute? are the prizes excessive? Who do they actually attract? Instead of giving a car or what ever to these seemingly "professional clothes horses" would it be better to make the big prize available to all the rank and file on-course patrons on the day in some form of competition and letting a Joe Blow drive off in a brand new car. Thoughts anyone.
  20. It was a good run as she wanted to lay out coming round the bend and all the way down the straight otherwise she would have finished second. I would think they may have two options to consider heading to Trentham, either the Thorndon Mile or the Cup.
  21. Nothing wrong with today's fields. Just had to sort out the wheat from the chaff.
  22. Well I have never met a female with the name of David Walker for starters and I couldn't find a male one by that name riding there today either for that matter.
  23. Alan has just sent through the Best Bets PDFs for Auckland RC and South Canterbury for tomorrow and for Taupo and Kurow on Tuesday. Look above for my earlier post if you want to get them also.
  24. Sell out. Gates locked unless you already have a ticket or are an owner. As per constant advice, Boxing Day and New Year's Day is when they go to the races at Ellerslie (which are holidays) contrary to Chris Weaver's statements that Aucklander's all leave town. Put the bloody Cup back on New Year's Day.
