  1. Yep, impressed. Sounds like some good callers coming through down south too.
  2. Exactly. They promised us more coverage and have failed to deliver. If Aussie 'call the shots' then they shouldn't have done this. The fact is they have never delivered on showing us more coverage of NZ dogs which is what we want to see.
  3. So they could punt on other dogs I'm picking? Similar to match fixing.
  4. The Walsh kennel has been quiet for a while now. Was wondering what their plans are, seem to have a lot less dogs than a year or two ago.
  5. Yep, I remember saying at the time that nothing will change with the new channels. It did except instead giving the dogs more coverage(and probably the other codes) we just got more races that we certainly didn't need. You can complain all you like to the racing board but they don't listen and they're not good at changing their mind....then they wonder why they're losing punters(and employees).
  6. What if you've used a feed, for say 10 years and it's never caused trouble until now? Surely, you'd think you were using a reputable company. This is a tricky situation.
  7. I didn't have her in my treble but she has improved a lot lately, did think $11 place on the tote was crazy. Been a good breed that one.
  8. Weren't Awesome Bender and Little Mother nonnies when they came to NZ?
  9. Some big calls, thought both races looked lotteries like many group races but at least you have selections haha. I tend to stay off the punt in these sort of races. Best of luck to all.
  10. Yes, that's a good point. Where are all the southern dogs? Mc Inerney was one of the few that made the trip, I know it's a 3 race format but it was the same for the NZ cup and plenty of Northern dogs trekked south.
  11. Business Time and Snicko are by Big Daddy Cool and all his sons seem to go well at stud though Matanushka has been disappointing. Been very impressed with Star Conquest from limited runners, surprised he hasn't been utilised more.
  12. How many litters would you give a bitch like her to produce a good one. 1, 2, 3....? Lets just say John is right and she ends up being no good at stud...
  13. I like Cawbourne Crouch but there's so much early pace, might be a good no bet race.
  14. Clearly has freakish ability but has yet to win when not in front at the first bend. I don't think he's the most intelligent dog.
  15. Her size might put some off but wouldn't you have a go?
  16. Yep, great racing. I like the semis format as it gives the good dogs more chance to make the final. I was hundreds down then got 10% of the Royal Runner jackpot first 4 and ended up getting most of it back. Indi Rhode was one of the biggest upsets in greyhound racing.
  17. I don't back dogs lining up two days in a row but it's not illegal and I doubt it ever will be. I remember the great Another Gale winning 5 or 6 c5 races in 11 days once. She was a machine.
  18. I got bagged for bagging Trevor ages ago after he did exactly the same thing despite most of my posts being positive. Constructive criticism is positive in my opinion and when you have young guys doing the job better despite having much experience at all, I think it's time for a change. You wouldn't complement a plumber if your drains were still blocked...
  19. I can see both sides, if you take all favourites it's probably not worth it but if you land 1 or 2 roughies it quickly multiplies like most bet types. Looking back at when I took poker bets, I probably didn't take enough roughies.
  20. Yeah but I'd want the best dogs there regardless and if they haven't had the chance to make it to c5 yet....
  21. I love percentage betting because I like to chase smaller percentages of big dividends. I was taking too many dogs before and getting big quaddies but it was costing me a lot so now I spend less chasing the small dividends. I narrow one leg down to 2 runners where I'm most confident and take as many as I think I need in the other 3 legs. eg 2 x 5 x 6 x field. I've been going well on sum of rugs but was 0 from 5 today haha, unlucky in 3 of them.
  22. If Angvella goes 30.12 like the other week, there won't be many giving him wind burn. Lacks a brain though if he doesn't lead.
  23. Bring back the hurdles, still miss them.
  24. I couldn't make a profit of these in the long run lad27 despite them being a fun bet type. I always use a decent sample size for recording my bets of each bet type and while I didn't lose much, it must return a profit for me to continue to use it. I have 7 bet types I'm currently using with First 4s the most profitable from Eachway then Trebles. I was a fair way down on Quaddies but changed technique and now am -11. The other 6 bet types are in the positive so will continue to use them although with large sample sizes for most of these, I'm thinking of dropping a few because I'm not much in the black. I do the same for tracks and found the South Island was too difficult so gave up on those 3 tracks and only use the 4 North Island tracks now where Palmy has been the most profitable followed by Waikato, Auckland then Wanganui. Always enjoy these threads.
