So we have a 2 yr old that is supposed to be racing at Awapuni next Saturday (travelling from Waikato).  Apparently meeting now moving  to Wellington… so extra travel for our boy (if he goes) and no accomodation for us.. (or trainers/stable staff!!?) when I rang a local motel this afternoon they told me that the last 3 units were booked by “ CEO” Wellington racing 2 hours previous.  All other accomodation fully booked in Trentham.  Same 2 yr old went to Avondale trials meeting in October…he got to the start, then the meeting was was abandoned ….the silence from NZ Racing is deafening.  I can not see anything on nzracing site re compensation… nor have we, as owners received any correspondence regarding the Avondale  trials cancellation.   However owners still had to pay $480 travel etc.    I see no other expenses for Avondale trials on our bill as yet.   No communication or transparency from NZTR.  We were hoping to get to the Karaka Million … which is a mission in itself .. never mind having to deal with the rest of the shit show that is NZ Racing!

And the other horses trying to qualify in the rating 75 2200 today now miss out - the Stella Artois series is toast for anyone trying to qualify today - the race is only 2 weeks away

In my opinion it won’t be forthcoming just like every other cock up that has been happening over the last ten years in NZ Racing. 
it started happening when they said that we don’t need people with a background in racing, what we need us people with business experience to take us to the next level. We need to embrace the future and forget the past. 

I'm wondering about the scope of the integrity unit (whatever they are called these days). They are quick to fine jockeys for mistakes, and even trainers, starters etc. Should they be looking at incompetent paid officials? Is that part of their role?
