  1. Terribly sad news. Condolences to all connections. Wishing Tommy well with his recovery.
  2. Many thanks Louise I have looked up the stallion stats already but am after some firsthand info from people that have them and have handled them.
  3. Thanks for your interest We are have a couple lined up but have not made a decision as yet. Could you please email me about the filly and the gelding. You should be able to send me an email thru racecafe. The more info about the horses the better and also where you are located. Thanks
  4. Can anyone tell me what their thoughts are about the progeny of these 2 stallions. Temperament/Type. Any successes, problems encountered or any other useful information. Many thanks.
  5. Shame it is on the same day as the Waverley Point to Point.
  6. No nothing suitable has come to light unfortunately. Please contact me if you have anything at all suitable even if no photos currently (can always look up NZRacing for more detail). Aged 2yrs upwards, prefer broken in, raced or unnraced. Please send me an email through racecafe. Am waiting for the May Sales Catalogue to come out, someone may have something in that that would be suitable (?dissolving partnership or syndicate) and doesn't want to wait until May?. Many thanks again.
  7. Thanks small timer will pass on your info to our trainer.
  8. Trainer located in Central District area
  9. Has anybody got a stayer to lease or possibly sell. Would prefer a gelding. Our Syndicate has recently retired one of our horses and we are looking for another horse as our trainer would prefer to have two in work. Maybe the horse has potential but the current owner is over committed or doesn’t have the time to spend. This horse will be given every opportunity to realise it’s potential and would have the best of care, and surroundings. Our trainer has a small stable located on sheep and beef country with local track nearby. Please email me directly with photos and pedigree if you think you have anything that might suit. Many Thanks

  11. oops...sorry he ran 8th.
  12. was put down in Perth after being kicked in his near shoulder by another horse. He was having his second prep after being purchased by some WA business men. He ran sixth at his first start back a week or so ago and was looking promising for this campaign. Condolences to connections.
  13. I remember travelling to the races at Hawkes Bay and of course it must have been Election Year as "Vote Craig Foss-National" blue placards were rife everywhere along the road, in fact I started counting them (to while away the journey) and in the end got fed up as there were far too many!. If it wasn't for this I would not have had a clue who he was. Hope he is keen to support racing and also to promote and market racing as much as he is keen to promote and market himself in the HB.
  14. ... advice not a warning given.. about marginal gaps...
  15. A warning and also a penalty today for the same jockey.
  16. I am sure it was an accident but unfortunately some jockeys are not experienced enough and sometimes not strong enough to keep their horses out of these situations (not surprising when you think of a 54kg human vs 500kg of horseflesh going at great pace). It is specially so of the new apprentices coming up through the ranks but they have to learn and gain their experience somewhere so it is a difficult situation. It sounds to me like it is careless riding causing injury and if the only thing to come from this incident is that the jockey is made aware of it then it hopefully teaches the jockey to be more careful and to think of ways they can avoid this happening where ever possible. We are all supposed to learn from our mistakes and hopefully the jockey has in this case and hopefully has also learnt some strategies to help prevent this happening again. I do think the jockey should have been penalised as it very lucky it was not a lot worse as the injured horse could easily have fallen and there would probably have been other severe casualties and maybe even fatalities to other horses and jockeys. An apology or a follow up with connections by the jockey to see how the horse was would have also gone a long way as well in my humble opinion.
  17. Something similar to the quality of the replays on the Singapore Turf Club site would be much better viewing.
  18. "Drought said Cassini was "highly unlikely" to tackle the Wellington Cup at Trentham on January 29, with the $1 million Stella Artois Auckland Cup (3200m) at Ellerslie on March 9 her main target. "Mark said 12 months ago that was the race he would set her for." Source: Taranaki Daily News
  19. I believe Cassini is going to the Auckland Cup.
  20. As part owners of two horses in NZ and also one in Singapore, it is very disheartening that racing is going down the "gurgler" in NZ. We are very happy that we have a horse that had the opportunity to go to Singapore. We love the sport with passion and did not get into the sport to make money..but rather to enjoy the raceday experiences. Our two NZ horses are trained in a small stable by a good friend that we once were able to help out if need be on race day. We felt if we had a horse that was lucky enough to do well then that was a bonus, but with the PC rubbish, the reduced stakes, & now this we certainly will not be keen to race another horse in NZ after our 2 are retired! Sad, sad, sad!!
  21. Article in paper today regarding tendon injury to Altered Image in racing accident in Mudgway last year. Says he had stem cell treatment which seems to have been successful judging by his season so far.
  22. Is he a flat horse or jumper and has he returned to racing??
