  1. Have to agree! Terrible pre and post race coverage of what was a super meeting. We are going further backwards... We really need to step up our game. If this is how we showcase our premier meetings then the future of our industry doesn't look that great. We're not Aussie, but look at how well they promote their greyhound racing compared to us.

On a brighter note, we saw some real nice pups going around. Big congrats to Thayne and owners of Golden Fern on their win in the sprint. To Fahey, Opawa Racing and Alan on Superstar's super win in the Cup. The future is bright for him, potentially one of the best we may see. It's scary with him being so young, there is so much more racing and improvement in him. And to all the winners prior and after the big ones, congratulations to you all! Hope all made it home safe to see another race!

  2. Have to be very proud of both these greyhounds, and all of those who made it to the final...

The run of the race other than the winner for me was by Know Keeper who certainly has a bright future... Was huge in his heat and even more impressive in the final... another Know Peace/Know Class? Wouldn't that be nice for Crafty - another champion of the sport! Looking forward to what the future has in store for Know Keeper.

  3. Brian is the best caller without a doubt. I prefer Darryl over Mark as well, kudos to Mark for everything he has given to the game over the many, many years but his calling is terrible! One toned and sadly, very boring. Darryl is only a smidgen better, but still, better all the same. The likes of Dennis Symes, Darryl MacAuley, Matthew Gardiner - all of them I personally think are great callers as well! Northern Racing is ok, Peter is still calling great, but South wise, Dave is probably the best down there. Trevor and Andy "so so".

Yep an absolute gentleman and the Best Licensed Persons rep we have ever had Howrude?  His performance on the Board for us all  has been excellent, All the Best!..

Thanks. The info is up now on GRNZ. He won in 23.99 over 410m at Palmy last Monday. I'd have him clear second pick on that (at $3.50, with Bigtime Stella $2) so I've had something on him at $9.

Nice effort yesterday, trainer is an absolute gentleman - all the best!

Just find his loud voice irritating l like Dave McDonald and Jason teaze

Mate... Each to their own, I appreciate that, but wow... I consider Brian Martin better than anyone we have going around at the moment. I respect everything that Roso and co. have contributed to the industry since Brian's departure and even before, but man oh man.. Bring him back lol, for the delight of many others as well as myself!

  7. As far as I am concerned, full credit to Dave and Jean Fahey for the exceptional job they did with this greyhound. He obviously had ability prior to being sent over but after getting his mind on the job, this boy could be anything... 29.56 after a big break, wow!

Remember folks if you are members of Wanganui you can call a meeting and put your concerns to to the board. If you choose to leave it you have nothing to complain about your decision

I've been out of the game for a few years now, regularly visit but then get put off because of this... We tried many times to be heard back then and I bet they are still trying now. The board wont listen ZT, they never do. Anything for on course turnover. Look at whats happening atm. Cover up after cover up, whether that be The Board, JCA, RIU (neither here nor there, but my point stands).

Another question is, can we trust the board? They have supplied us with so much doubt in the past.

  9. Yes, Friday nights at Hatrick are terrible for trainers/owners that want to sit. "The booking system..." Trainers and Owners should get first preference to the tables and chairs as it is them putting on the show. Whether they have booked or not.  I used to watch our elderly trainers, and some owners, sit outside in the cold as the tables were already booked out. The ratshit thing with this, is that majority of those who reserved spaces, didn't turn up until later in the night. The tables could and should have been utilized.

Generating public interest is great, it brings $ to the table but when we start looking at the money rather than our participants, and treat participants as "visitors", we are F'D! I can't believe we are moving backwards, rather than forwards.

If this is how it is, priorities need to be checked.

  10. Whoever writes the comments needs to go lol.... Luckily I'm a regular viewer of daily races as I pay no attention to the comments anymore. They are misleading, supply wrong information and at times can put most punters off with their blabbering.. Calling dogs bitches (boys girls), wrong times, distances... Just a joke. It's almost like they have "predicting sentences" that pop up as soon as they type in a word.."Ah, that'll do.."

As for our commentators....... Wow. The CD lacks, definitely. But that's for another topic lol

    You all missing the point.

Eljay, being a handler does not allow you to train, correct? Emotive understand what you saying, but when those within the industry are making mistakes, that is where those policing the industry need to get off their lazy useless butts and do the job they are masssivley overpaid for. This is bigger than the subject Mr D . The biggest  loser will be greyhound racing.

Exactly. Those overseeing all of us, laying down all of the rules and regulations that we are supposed to adhere to are, half of the time, the main reason why events like this occur. They turn a blind eye to so many things and yet open their eyes wider to other issues.. Depending on who you are, in the end, decides whether you're seen or not. Another issue for another post lol... With the recent banning on greyhound racing in some states next door, I can't agree more. If we don't get people who are really serious about the game, who do not share the same passion as the small trainer who gets up early every morning of every day to clean, feed, train and care for their pup who has never run better than 5th in its entire career, week in and week out, then again, I agree. The outcome remains... Lazy, useless butts who are massively overpaid will continue to dictate...

  12. The three of them choosing not to provide a hair sample says enough for me. Although it was their right to decline and after seeking advice I may add, if you had nothing to hide and if you wanted the best possible outcome for your father and/or boss given the situation, then you wouldn't need to seek advice and piss arse around. You would have provided what was necessary to clear your names from any wrong doings. Instead, you three chose not to provide anything and you also lied about David's presence on the property at the time. Again, if you had nothing to hide, why lie? Why decline? Why hide?

Essentially, what has happened is the ruins of "a stellar career" but also the shit that will be associated with the name "Schofield". Not a good way to end terms...

Winding up, it was a clear second last week and faded to 4th, in a very average 645 field, this dog was a prolific group 1 winner and raced the best distance dogs in Australasia.

Now it is racing mediocre fields struggling to keep up

The leaders looked to be fading last week in a average field

Grab a piece of pie mate.... Humble pie... Should never question the works of The Master!

  14. True marvel to watch him notch them up with ease, and credit to the trainer for keeping him on the up for so long. Wheelchair Norm is another one. Although the past few weeks have not been as of old, he is another that just keeps turning up every week.

Enjoy your retirement Floyd! A champion in your own right, and a true athlete and "showboy" that "encouraged" many eyes to the industry. Your huge fan base are going to miss you!

Judicial report: Supplermentry from Palmerston North greyhound meeting on the 5-3-2018 under the provisions of rule ( 11.1b ) Stewards reviewed the running of ( CRACKLE ) no 7 in race 14 and found the performance to be unsatisfactory-this dog has now been stood down rule ( 38.9 ) to complete a satisfactory trial before being nominated for future racing.

Wow... They must be members of the site...

  16. View the replay of the last race at Manawatu yesteday and tell me the winner did not have a look... Stipes are taking the piss! One look approaching the turn for home and again as she levels up with 3 dog. How clear does it need to be?
