  1. Yeah, well i'm not sure if you have experienced yourself walking down that hill at Manawatu by experience its not the safest even for handlers.. i was there the day that dog broke its neck at the gate before the races and going downhill they will always pick up speed and will find it very difficult to stop obviously. Their have been a number of dogs that have slipped the collars for some unknown reason hit the gate cleared to run and have gone onto win.
  2. hahahahha amen come on ref lol they (the stipes) will start asking questions about those sort of things ahaha making sure you have polished your shoes
  3. Whoknows is slowly becoming as the biggest know it all and low life of nz greyhound racing.. where abouts do you train greyhounds? or do you even train greyhounds?
  4. I say Craig you keep doing what you do best and race them.. at the end of the day you're the trainer not these wanna-be experienced part or full-time trainers who couldn't even train a group 1 winner..
  5. Well Central Districts should have no problem showing their qualifying trials as there is a young keen promising race-caller commentating their qualifying trials.
  6. According to a few Stipendary stewards they have informed me that in the next year or 2 that either the nzgra site or trackside will be showing qualifying trials for greyhound racing.
  7. "You would think the trainer would care about the welfare of other dogs in the race." - This is racing, where anything happens and sometimes it does! "Eve(r)y start it has it jumps" - HAHAHA!!! Look back at her eve(r)y start, you would know that she hardly ever picks the jump perfectly. You're an idiot! I don't post as often as I use to because it's like arguing with, again,"idiots" but when I see someone have a go at one of our games true good guys because his dog 'cost you the power money', I can't not say anything, racing is racing! I can name many other dogs whose racing style consistently affects other runners. Looks to me like you've lost your loot on her and I mention this because of the nature of your post. Turn the page and move on. I can sit here, behind my keyboard and be a warrior also but I would like to assure you that her trainer is probably one of the most respected trainers of the CD in and outside of the game. When are you going to do something better with yourself rather than sit on here 24/7. Get your family together, I hear Family Feud is after a few contestants - kill a bit of time this way rather than ^^ that way!! On a positive exit, may everyone introduce the New Year safely and may 2016 be another year full of love, life and laughter! All the very best to all!!
  8. Cheers man Hope it's not true...
  9. Huge win at Manawatu today in 25.73... Well done to Matt on doing a tremendous job in getting the dog back to his brilliant best! Hope he holds together sound for the remainder of his career as he is going to raise more than a few eyebrows, very exciting!!!!!!!
  10. Sorry, that was meant to read "4 of his 7 wins"
  11. Although Fantastic Pete does look a very serious dog, with 4 or more of his wins being in BON fashion, Kilchurn is a dog that I've followed with a passion and I truely do believe, after hearing some very "fast" news, that if he is nominated for this race, he will be very hard to beat! Splits at Palmy have been hair raising "apparently". Plus, wouldn't it be nice to see a dog who was robbed of running in the NZ Cup due to illness come out and win a "consolation" race (although it is a G1 haha) .... With some very serious names competing at the moment, I think we will be in for a very cracking race guys and gals! Happy punting/Safe Racing Cheers
  12. Havent read much of the forum, but going off the topic title, here's something interesting. Race 11 at Addington today, the first three home had raced last night...
  13. Glen is an absolute gentleman who comes from a very well respected greyhound family, so, to secure such a dog is everything and more! Could not have happened to a nicer fella, onwards and upwards for this superstar! All the best pal!
  14. Going through the races at Auckland, I seemed to have come across some pretty exceptional debutants in the 2nd- at least that's what we are meant to believe going off the facts given by the TAB. Poppa Conquest: "2nd Auck 318m Qual Trial beaten a nose in 18.15s." Beaten a nose in 18.15s? The time recorded on thedogs.co.nz site is 19.15, which is somewhat more believeable but I guess the point I am trying to make is with the audiences that the TAB and racing attracts, you would have thought that in this day in age, we are well over "typos" or mistakes. I mean, How misleading is this?? And it's happening far too often!! I apologise if it looks as though I'm taking a hit at the dog named, well and truly not the case! Just showing how unprofessional the TAB is.
  15. Good for you Alesha. You've done a great job with all your dogs! Things can only get better, now knowing what is required! Keep up the great work!
  16. Naming trainers whom you have issues about under an alias suggests to us that you were bagging... This topic/post should be deleted as it is absolute rubbish. If it wasnt meant to be offensive, no names should have been mentioned. You're an arse mate. You knew exactly what attention you were seeking. Maree Gowan should be giving other trainers tips on how to look after their dogs as I can assure you that she holds her dogs in high regards. Running wide? Well, this is just something the dog adopts on its own. I can name plenty of greyhounds, especially in the last 2-3yrs whose uncanny attributes hindered their performances and those of the other runners. That's just racing. Same thing as if a dog was to shoot straight down to the rail. Very rarely, if not, impossible, to stop this from happening. If you do find a "cure" let us know...Your pockets will end up full!!!
  17. Looked to be a huge success, with those on course mingling as if brothers and sisters. because under all three codes, we pretty much are. Reminded me of non tote days where it was a pleasure to be on course and competing was out the window! Everyone was there to have a blast, and that they did! Well done to the Palmerston North club. They held an absolute cracker of a meeting with bouncy castles, beers on tap, heaven! Like iteruka suggested, as successful as this was, why not hold something like this occasionally!
  18. Yeah mate. Keep all vouchers and they pay vet bills plus 30% of stake money....They're nice enough dogs and we have a lot of passion for the sport, so it's easy enough to get up for $5 a day...
  19. I agree with you to a degree. We currently have a few dogs, each paying $70 a week. Per dog, this price is very fair. $150.....You must be bringing better results home than Cole, Freeman and McInerny...Surely, that is a bit over the top. Whoops, I mean "Ahern" ...
  20. San Sebastian....................................pocket talking as I had field and outsider runs 2nd.
  21. Hi all, Know Danger!!! How impressive was he today at Otago?! Missed the jump, carted out so wide on the first bend he almost kissed the fence, and still managed to run down Deanne's Fantasy, whom we all know can run over a bit of ground. Runs 32.44...Imainge if he had box one... Exceptional, exceptional chaser! I made a post a year ago regarding Know Class or Know Ambition...The Cleeve clan just get better and better. What a race! What a thrill!! Great for local breeding, rearing and racing! Cheers
  22. The same could be said for JT - read the stipe report. This joker is just having it in for them!
