  1. I had one who had 40 odd starts and only run 3rd twice... He hit the front one start at Hatrick, put two lengths on the field before swinging for home and he literally slowed down and waited for the other chasers...we always thought he had ability but after 40 tries, GAP...
  2. Well said Grizzly Bear!! It almost seems that this is some sort of joke...training dogs under another alias, or partner/wife whatever, after what has been done just makes me sigh utter disappointment. DISGRACE!!!!

    George Simon

Mate , I entirely agree with you. I consider him as one of the best atm alongside Tony Lee.
  4. No doubt about it, its great to see new comers win race after race, but to class them along side DD and James MacDonald...I wouldn't get too carried away!
  5. Call me rude, BUT, how is a dog losing 4.5kg being passionate towards the dog or the game. More of a disgrace. Really, there's no excuses for this unless the scales are f**ked in which i think they arent as my dogs as well as others, as in 99.9% of other dogs, weighed in appropriately; 1.5 down,up or no change. Yeah the mentioned dogs had a good run, and i hope it happens again, but this is more or less animal cruelty, like before, NO EXCUSES! as for my opinion, that is it, but in no way is this being passionate!!
  6. I remember. In all my years racing though, I wouldnt have any idea who Bob Smolenski is? First time i saw him ever was last years Railway Final. Has he trained greyhounds before or is he just a form "expert"? I see there is a Smolenski who trains horses...
  7. I remember down in C1-2 maybe even 3 watching him establish a nice early break which would, if he was lucky, get him past the post, but now...Man, its amazing what these beautiful creatures are able to achieve!!
  8. To be honest, I thought that Guy Baxter copped it more than the Mother and he finished 2nd...
  9. Was a beaut nights racing, and betting! Well done to all victors and place getters! My highlight would probably have to be Regen Hurricane in the G1 Derby. Absolute cracker of a race with no more than 8Ls (?) covering the field. Nice run from Swift Fantasy also, Smokin Ichiban, etc. Finally! SERGIO!!!! Good Luck, you have the nation on your shoulders!!!!
  10. I've read a lot of criticizing towards the calling of races in which George Simon has called and hardly ever on Tom Woods performances. This is what i heard today during race 8 at Otago Greyhounds (not word for word)... "and towards the tail of the field, Stags Ingill, but out in front is Stags Ingill"

    sergio

I missed the race, and this makes up for it...clearly! Even though it was run on Saturday night, i was yelling as if it was being run live! Exceptionally the best I've seen in a long time!
  12. El Grand Senor, retired?... What a shame.. Was it due to injury mate ?
  13. You know exactly what I mean mate. In all my years racing horses and greyhounds, i have never seen anyone, not Trevor/Steve McKee through Sunline or Dave and Jean Fahey through...all their G1 winners, for an example (there are many more others out there), say a speech like the one he done. It makes me laugh and sick at the same time. Laugh because in no way is hL a smashing, and also the "where was he" bit. Sick, well. It's just an embarrassment really... The point I made about Sergio being my fav or the best out of the two was solely on the fact that he has made me look good at the pub many, many a time when giving out tips, lol!

    Help

    :) :) :) ...that is all!
  15. but like Tailedoff considered, you might want to fix this. For starters, the stake of a New Zealand cup is $100,000, where you would get $56,400 not $43K. And secondly, that was a disgrace in what B.Cole had said during his congratulatory speech and what you call a smashing in her "AUCKLAND CUP" win, not "NEW ZEALAND CUP"! Winning by half a length is in no way, a "smashing". "She smashed em. She smashed em!"- Embarrassing isn't it. Yup, she does deserve some respect, a win is a win, be it by a nose or by 20L, and $43k is ...WOW... Now, say what you like, think what you like, we all have our own opinions. In my opinion, Sergio will have to be the best dog I've seen since Winsome Ashley, Cecilia Llyod and Misty Anna (over mid.dis.) and i think Little Mother could've been n the blue and Sergio in the pink, I still believe Sergio would've beaten her, and honestly, you would think that she should've beat Hailey's Agent, who went HUGE!!!!!! :) P.S, please forgive me if some of my statistics above are incorrect!
  16. hahaah!! demolishing time!
  17. Was very game!!!! Good on Hailey's Agent! I thought she went HUGE! BUT, he done the job, and done it nicely! Yup. Well done to all involved!!
  18. With all the bickering aside, What a champion we are lucky to have gracing upon New Zealand in Swift Fantasy! Truly remarkable stuff. Well done to Steve, Kathy and all involved. As for the heart, well... it's racing as fast her little legs. What else is there to say? She's the best I've seen.
  19. Mate, it sends tingles up your spine!! No lies. I saw her race at Wanganui, what an experience. Plus with all the noise and people... Sad to see that her only "real" opposition in Dangle The Carrat wont be there. Another who excites you!
  20. I agree with you although I would have to say that the best run came Rolled Oats!!! HUGE!!!
  21. Very sad hearing Peter Early mention she suffered a hock injury during or after her trail at Auckland forcing her to rest for a while. Was really looking forward for her match against Swift Fantasy. Never Mind I suppose. I guess we'll just have to wait until she cleans up across the Tasman ( ) for her next to race.lol!
  22. Very nice. Be good to see him run over a bit more ground. The way he charged home in the Sister City and in many, if not all, of his races suggests that he can cope and may appreciate the extra ground :y:
