  1. Could be but not in a very professional manner. If they want to clean the sport up, lead by example and dont have inquires infront of 7 other people and the track side viewers. DISGRACEFUL. Surely the privacy of those trainers should of been protected opps no rights so guess no acts either. I are not to sure if this is a good change if this is what we have to look forward to. I hope for one a never upset any one. To easy for rumors to be taken to fair.
  2. I fully agree with your comments, what a disgraceful display for all public that were watching. I really hope this is sorted and this never happens to any other trainer or handler again. Only if we had rights HAHA.
  3. True comment well done to the ghost and all owners and new trainer. May many more wins be in his future. Go the ghost.
  4. I did not quote that I didn't want to go to Dunedin so before you type make sure your facts are right, I are aware other trainers didn't want to go, but the decision has been made and it was made by a person or people far more qualified then you or me. So move on and work with the club and other trainers and fix what is going on. But people could battle on here all day long on this but I are hoping Sundays work that has been suggested by D.Laing and the other comments that are printed on club web page can help for the selected trainers who have a problem.
  5. I was at the dissucussion that was held in the stipes office with the so called 2 people and others. I are sure that there was more than 2 trainers that have concerns. I don't think the meeting was abandoned on the last two meetings, there has been concerns brought up over the last month or two as the amount of injuries that have occured in the same area of the track. It is all very fit and well to ingore this or disagree on opinions we all have but this has to be fixed as for your suggestion Andy if you don't like it don't race on it . not a good fix at all. Good luck to the club and trainers and hope they can work togeather to fix this to the benifit of the dogs.
  6. Those fields also had me and a select few owners we have really baffled. We have three dogs sitting at home who did not get starts, with 2 being in the 9 and 10 box in the heats. This is really frustrating as we told the owners their dogs should get a start as heats are to be carded at Addington on the 30 November for C1 295 meters and 520 meters . I was under the opinion when heats are to be carded double starts and South Island policy is not used and the dogs are picked on form and if there is enough noms for the heats to have more races they should be carded, not other grades. I feel this is not fair on the owners when these dogs are sitting at home. Are the club able to do this or have I got the policy or rules wrong Could any one please give me there thoughts on this as I are really confused.
  7. To easy to blame the MACS, it not hard to figure as trackstar said send them off track. this problem has been on going, stipes are there to control the meeting so guess they may do something, time will tell. There is always to sides to a story. As for always trouble when MACS at track I could honestly say we all good at the races down this way.

Move down South we are all so much more friendly and never have the problem of finding helpers at the races. Your team on fire hope this continues for you and your worker and race day worker. Keep the good work up all of yous
  9. All the girls are back in Auz bar Peggy who is in New Zealand for breeding. Boys retired due to injuries. Hope this helps. Nitro martha pups are breaking in at Matty's.
  10. what a negative reply hurricane. I will not get over that a lp rep can not support all Lps but as for the descion on the children i guess i have to. I was only answering same ones question. Good to see you are brave enough to use your own name, but as this is a public forum and we can write what we want, but no one asks you to read it. Get over it yourself.
  11. i have not been told nonesone that is the OSH act for under 15 year olds in the work place. Your comment is also correct if anyone was hurt OSh would be all over it but if this did ever happen age does not come into it. We as handlers and catchers are treated equally under the safety act as we should be, weather we are 13 or 70. But this thread was on LP rep voting, i only brought the children up as they were Lps and our rep would not help and was not interested at all. I feel he should support all Lp's opinions.
  12. This catchers and Handlers rule 112.1 was reviewed a few seasons back it was decided to let younger children with prior written approval from stewards to hanlde greyounds, this change introduced a reasonable amount of new young handlers which was good for the future of the sport. As for you saying there has been no complaints , there were complaints made to the board in october last year, and young handlers were informed from stipes that they could no longer perform their handling duties under the new change. So i phone LP rep and Ross Gove to be informed it was OSH issue and they could face legal ratifactions. The LP rep was in support of the new change and i no longer contacted him as he was not interested in supporting Young LPS. I recieved a letter informing my sons licence was to be revoked. I made a interview with OSH to claffiry Boards concerns only to be told it was not a OSH issue. i was qouting to Mike that OSH Said it is not in the ACT that what the youth do is a saftey issue as they are not working or assisting with work involving machinery. They also qouted that the act for under 15 years old is that they are not to work in any area 1 goods are being perpared or made for sale 2 Any construction work is being done 3 Any logging or tree felling is being done. This doesnt aplly if at all times they work in the office or in any area used only to sell things. Hope this is easy to understand. I agree with your last comment if you are not strong enough to handle a greyhound you shouldn't. And if OSH chooses to look at any other saftey issue in this industry it will be on some of the board members and the one of the standing LP reps shoulders not mine.
  13. I have been to The ChCh department of Labour for a interview on this issue and was informed by 1 of their people that if handling or catching was to be dangerous for the youth they said it to be dangerous for all concern as age was not a factor. OSH said due to there being no work or to assist with work involving machiney, goods are been perpared or made for sale, any construction work is being done, any logging or tree falling under 15 are able to do under their Act. They also comment that the lifting all of us do in certain kennels with weights of dogs and how high we lift was a issue. So i are happy to inform you Mike that is what i was told also as well as the parent or guardian of all under 18 involved in industry sign for them. But i guess it wasn't OSH anyway as Board members and LP rep qouted they never mention OSH. So you do some homework on this and get facts right. We all are going to have different opinions on the Lp Rep, you are entilted to yours and i entitled to mine. I are only talking the truth.
  14. But he should try, as when he was first approched by myself re youth he was not perpared to help even when as far as telling lies, re it a OSH problem, Real good rep i dont mind if He had a different opintion but take concerns to board and don"t lie about why this was first started.
  15. I are not sure if he has done anything positive at all. He has not support young LPS to keep licences. That is not at all good, we are all getting older not any younger so i hope he doesn"t get any young LPS votes.
  16. i are tring to search on net for the compant that makes the starting boxes could anyone help please
  17. i was meaning to make this a thread but made a mistakes as i done the post in haste. It was ross gove i certainly do not mind stating his name. I was not telling porkies. We had a heated phone conversation over the youth handlers change and I brought up the issue of lack of return communcation on the board behalf, words were said and i ended the phone call, only to get a email in my inbox with in minutes. Which annoyed me as i still await replies till this day on written corresspondce.
  18. ha what a laugh i get a email in my junk box regarding improving communcation in the sport, I still await my reply re concernn that i put forward at the meeting in Invercargill. In the email they qouted with todays technoligy it easy to communicate, if that the case it not hard to reply to a letter. This is happening to often , but not dare phone and complain as your will be email very quickley with nasty responses, you are also informed you are no longer able to phone certain person. Bloody same the cant reply to a LP question as quick.
  19. As per norm the one kennel gets the blame, there are plently of other trainers guilty of holding a quiet dog in the boxes and never has that bothered anyone. I have also seen different people have half a dog already in the boxes before we are even told first line to box. If there no rule get on with an other subject. As for the reason Merv started this thread it was young vs old, i wouldn't think the assn or stewards would even look at any of the other trainers that have problems, the kids were a easy target for some people who like to complain and winge. Hope those people never need a hand from the young ones in the future.
  20. I reckon good on the boys for putting letter on. I wish i had the guts to put mine on. Ross Gove has alot of time to spare if LPS getting letters and emails just for speaking up their concerns. Its a shame the board cant reply as quickley to other correspondence. Pleased i never held my brethe for my concerns to be answer.
  21. well said throughts with all the contections
  22. I have no faith in our current LP rep he has lied to me personally and has not done right by our young LPS as he would not even put forward my concerns with this new rule canges. Is it not his job to repersent all LPs and to put all concerns they have forward even if he does not agree?

    Handlers

Just wondering if any of the north island youth have recieved there notification of changes to their licences, i was informed yesterday by Ross Gove he had personal written asnd sign letters to the youth involved, my son and another youth down south have recieved nothing. It was a sad case at Addington when a young handler who previous in the proceed of the meeting he caught 4 dogs only to be told by stipe he was no longer able to. I fell this issue has been dealt with incompetent reply as i still await mine from the board. I are not sure if the board really know what furture damage to the youth in this industry or the postive support that was attending the monthly course

i fully agree the NZGRA should inform these youth with answers but i wouldnt hold my breathe or wait at mail box as i still have no reply to my letter from board meeting. This is bad mannagement from the top of this industry
