I think WP is a great young jockey, however, three suspensions at one meeting suggests he may have climbed out of the wrong side of the bed last Wednesday morning. Nevertheless, it is interesting that State of Fear returned easily the fastest sectionals over the final 800, 600, 400 and 200m. Although WP did get way, way back, which was a mistake, there was plenty of mahi done over the last half of the race. Have there previously been instances of three or suspensions in a day

Gruff, she has a full sister (Sweet but Psycho), a yearling, and a half brother (Canyoulovemeagain) a 2yo by Satono Aladdin. Both in NZ - I think the 2yo is with Chris Gibbs. I was involved with a horse years ago, Back Pocket. Her offspring were Out of Pocket (we were) and Pocket Edition, which were clever names.

Unfortunately, we've had to retire Aspen Colorado. She has been sold as a broodmare. Very, very sad for everyone involved, but we certainly enjoyed the brief time we had with her.

Undecided at this stage - apparently the standard of care over there is very, very good. Getting her across the Tasman is really expensive.

Worse than that, I'm afraid - she strained a tendon during the week and is out for up to 12 months. We're absolutely gutted.

We've called her Itz Aspen Colorado. Hopefully trialling this Friday, 29 April.

Does anyone know why Wiremu Pinn's suspension has been reduced? In its November inquiry, the RIB had concluded: "...Mr Pinn’s Licence as a Class B Rider is suspended for 3 calendar months, to commence after his current suspension ends on 25 November 2021 and to conclude at the conclusion of racing on 25 February 2022." Whatever the circumstances, I'm very pleased he's back riding!
