Well who knows how today will go. Did my selections 2 days ago but decided this morning I didn't like some of them so much anymore.Only one forced change through a scratching, but changed both of my Best Bets to other races, and put a second runner in with my original solo bets. I don't normally do things like that, prefer to go with my first thought, so hope it doesn't come back to bite me on the butt on the biggest day of all 🤣

This entire comp I've been both expecting and dreading a week with a zero cash return. It hasn't happened so far, so hopefully - for my teammates if nobody else - it doesn't happen next Saturday

Bonecrusher vs Veandercross
When these two teams met in pool play it was an absolute blood bath with Bonecrusher winning 5-0 with all four team members scoring over $500 and a team aggregate $800 higher than their opponents.  Can Veandercross pull off a huge upset?
 
Rough Habit vs Imperatriz
These two met in Round 7 and Imperatriz won 4-1 with nice contributions from Ohokaman and Peter RS.  Can Rough Habit use that super comp experience to their advantage?
 

OTR runs his best races when saved for one run at them, so I expect had he of tried to take on DSD and Merlin at the start he'd have had a tough run and finished up much further back than he did. That's only my opinion of course. I also hope Better Eclipse wins a race here on this trip. It looks like we're going to see more Aussie horseflesh at Alexandra Park that we've seen in years. Both First Fours were pretty easy actually, as when the horses are that good and that equal, a good  barrier draw means everything. In the two main races, Merlin, from barrier 5, was the widest draw to grab a Top 4 finish (3, 4, 1, 2 and 5, 2, 1, 3).

In the comp I've been taking Autumn Angel as a single-pick BB every start,  and this week she bags a big one at reasonable odds and it wasn't a comp race

There certainly appeared to be a distinct lack of urgency (that could be seen from the wide shot - the veeerrryyy wide and ever widening shot, at least), especially when most of those same jockeys have already been chasing the same horse running in the same style - admittedly by slightly lesser margins - and rarely failing to catch her on numerous occasions recently. What were they thinking?
