Well if common sense had been in practice they would have said they were moving the meeting yesterday , whole heartedly self interest was at play .
The most interesting aspect of this is the complete invisibility of one B Sharrock , I'm sure he is still the head of NZTR , he is isn't he ?
I think they said at the end of today's Weigh In that he is to be a guest on next week's show. They should make it a phone-in for viewers!!

That was my first thought when I heard it , just send them out and hope like hell they all come back .
I wonder if the jockeys would have just gone NAH!
Or trainers not being prepared to risk their horses or even getting a race .
That's exactly what l thought when l heard it. I couldn't believe what was being said. Crash test dummies, horses and jockeys alike. Thank goodness commonsense prevailed, but would love to know who forced the backflip but don't really expect honesty to prevail alongside the commonsense.

To be fair, l'd never heard of Grins either until 2 years ago, and Googled it before the first running of the event. The name has popped up every 12 months since, and every year in between I forget what it is and have to resort to Google to remind myself. Maybe being a non-drinker has something to do with it? Or old age and/or dementia?

Shouldn't really denegrate the Quokka. After all we're all Kiwis - sightless, flightless........ but it does seem an interesting title for such a big race. Meanwhile our Harness code has the $1m race for GRINS. Who or what is GRINS I might ask? Never see the word as kings of industry, real estate, car manufacturer , banking etc but obviously the principals have more than just a passing interest in the sport.
Anton Lienert-Brown, Damian McKenzie and Stephen 'Beaver' Donald will be most disappointed with you.
Like most great ideas, Grins was born when a bunch of mates sat around having a drink and a yarn. Beaver had invited Damian & Anton over for a BBQ for lunch, which turned into dinner, which turned into a long night of jokes and banter.
And as the sun was setting and the sausages were sizzling, the lads starting talking about Grins – an RTD brand that stands for all things good and grin-worthy, inspired (of course) by Damian’s trademark cheeky grin before he takes a kick.

Errr..... 'spelled' hehe.
Spelt and spelled are two different spellings of the past tense of the verb “spell.” The spelling tends to vary based on the version of English you're using: In US English, “spelled” is standard. In UK English, both “spelled” and “spelt” are acceptable.
It's a shame Imperatriz was retired and not just spelt

Surely Zelda knows that the fastlane at Randwick is 6-8m off the true, n0? With the rail out 7m from the 1000m to the finish you had to be on the fence in running.
First four home in Race 1? All on the fence. First two in Race 2? Both on the fence. First three in Race 3, and Race 4? The fence.
Barrier draws can matter on biased tracks. Barrier draws can matter on a race-by-race basis. But if you want to make money on the punt long-term, give an extra tick to horses drawn in the widest couple of spots. They should avoid interference at the start, and even if they want to lead they can be allowed to work through the gears to roll forward (whereas leaders drawn inside have to be stoked up immediately for fear of being crossed).
Like Jimmysstar? Oh, that's right, he didn't win

Wow.
So close, my Veandercross stablemates !
A fitting nail-biting finish to what has been such a highly entertaining and highly enjoyable comp these past many, many weeks.
Pondy launched late . . . John, too. . . and almost brought us home !
Very well done Pete, Foxmerts, Idolmite and Stoyd - very worthy champions the team Bonecrusher. You were a benchmark team right through, and held your nerve when it mattered most when under heavy attack.
I was thrilled to be in a team with John, Pondy and Kloppite. Great stablemates. We can be proud of finishing a close 2nd.
Most of all, thanks John and Scooby for this marvellous competition. John, your skill at running these comps is simply breathtaking. Many, many thanks, my friend.Bonecrusher was an extremely-cheap unfashionably-bred racehorse that nobody else wanted to buy. He did okay
Team Bonecrusher were a bunch of ragtag tipsters nobody else wanted to team up with. Thrown together by SNM, they did okay too

Gutted... initially thought mine had got up and that would have given us the win, but the photo finish told a different story... well done Bonecrusher, consistent throughout the comp
I thought you'd got up too. What a finish, to both the race and the comp. A nose in it at the end.

Sad to see, I didn’t see that race, I was on Motor Racing at that stage…
They will get it right…….
They were going okay in the rain at Taupo

Well. Speaking with foresight they have 'broken up ' a matted root structure which in the advent of rain which was forecast perfectly left you with an uneasy feeling . This track is Unique, to get a consistent surface will take time but it doesn't mean it's a write-off. Question remains have we the patience
Is it a matted root structure? Or a rooted mat structure?

Worst possible outcome , the one thing Strathayr is supposed to do is handle rain .
230mls at Randwick 2 weeks ago and they raced , what is being done here that is so radically different .
It seems we cannot renovate a track in NZ without ongoing issues .
Even the mighty Randwick had to pull the pin early today

What happened at Randwick? I see their last two races were abandoned too.

Don't know but we might find out after the race if she wins. He's taken to posting winning tickets after the event
Sorry team, picked a bad day to have a shocker.
They're winning tickets he's borrowed of somebody else

Bonecrusher looking to Chain of Lightning or Encap to win the next to make them awfully hard to run down.
Veandercross very keen on Espiona (the stopper hasn't tipped her today has he?) but also helped by Sunshine in Paris or Southport Tycoon.
Rough Habit also rooting for Southport Tycoon.
I'm just thankful those of us fighting for the main prize don't have to be concerned by the aggregates of those fighting for The Plate.

Randwick R6 #12 Fawkner Park a late scratching too?

Yes indeed.
In Rugby Union they call it a 14-point try.Yes, you lost a bundle with the relegation at the same time I benefited by being promoted from second to first. You should not have put me into the fence
And since I follow League and not Union, it's what we call a 12 point try
-
Just now, say no more said:
Yes, and if you had a single selection late scratched you have a single selection on the fave/sub
Cheers SNM. It looks like a day when sadly some of us might lose both runners in a race somewhere. Let's hope late scratchings don't influence the final result in either Grand Final today. But as the old saying goes.....it is what it is.

#2 Miraval Rose a late scratching in the next at Randwick
Late scratchings; So if we lose one selection it goes onto the fave?
If we already have the fave we go onto the second fave?
And if we lose both selections we go onto the fave and the second fave?

It makes no sense whatsoever. With the Pick 6 now relegated to the trash, Quaddies are now what we're expected to go to for that healthy collect for a small or smallish spend (I loath to call it an investment). That's the direction THEY are pointing US, yet they're not keen on telling us what the payout is? I just don't understand. I think sometimes they change things just so that they can say they're changing things.
