Thanks for the reply, yes Brians calls are great! Unfortunately I didn’t hear any of the action until Rosso was in calling. Was a good night of racing either way, however the reasons surrounding Brian's commentary has somewhat overshadowed the event.
Not on course this year, but it looks like Michael Guerin is the Mc again? Correct me if im wrong. Trackside has a big lineup yes, but I still think Mic and Sheldon Murtha should have been there.
Get over it! Steve makes racing exciting, which must be great for the industry. If it bothers you that much...turn down the volume, switch to TAB TV, turn on the radio or don’t bother at all!
I grew up with Tony's calls, they were always entertaining and full of energy. A great commentator, sad to see him go; all the best for his future endeavours.
Re Mike O'Sullivan, he has a great radio voice; I think one of the last proper callers of yesteryear. I don’t have many criticisms for him, seems like a cool guy. I remember when he did the presenting and Tony did the calling.
Edit: Will be good to see who commentates come Sat. Mike? Hmm.
Really? I wouldnt know as I dont have any plans of clearing my cache. My frequently visited sites would take longer to load (by only a few seconds I know) enough to discourage a young person
Just a quick heads up; if it hasn’t already been noticed. Clicking "Enter" from the Racecafe (http://www.racecafe.co.nz/) homepage leads to a 404 error...a possible reason for the decline?? Hmm.
Edit: The redirecting URL is incorrect, hence the error. http://www.racecafe.co.nz/forum/index.php is missing an S (after forum). Hope it gets fixed soon.
For some reason the previous thread was deleted. Anyway, according to the official Addington Raceway Facebook page, Monkey King is set for a return. Below:
"Exciting announcement....dual New Zealand Cup Winner Monkey King is to be nominated for the 2012 New Zealand Trotting Cup. Nominations close on Friday. Trainer Benny Hill says "it is a very real chance" he will line up in the 2012 Cup. WOW!! We look forward to welcoming him back to the track very soon!"
RE lead in time, I thinks it’s because SKY Racing 1 was also carrying other events so it seems broadcasting commitments have been stretched on both sides.
I don’t think the TAB would go through lengths to have a studio panel cover the event just to cross back to the aussise feed.
