What's is the issue here ? Is it on the JCA pages? Off topic here Anyway, he has had his life turned upside down , not knowing his future several times. Was training on the Coast when Greymouth closed. Had concerns with Palmy dates reduced/ almost canned entirely and grass track circuit all but ceasing
  2. Part of the access (Public) to "the Mot" is through local council domain land. Obviously , the powers to be are looking to fill the bank account. The thing Rangiora has over "The Mot" is two proper raceday tracks (all weather and grass) . The Mot's all-weather is used for workouts and trials. At Rangiora, if really bad weather they can move the meeting from grass to all-weather. 'The Mot' has had two meetings abandoned in recent times.
  3. Orari will be closing.
  4. Here we go again ? Why ? The powers that be want to review the use of Rangiora as a venue alongside choosing between Timaru and Oamaru. Obviously these ........ do not realize the importance these venues are to the locals and the popularity of them especially during the warmer months of the year . As a Rangiora local I have seen it brimming with attendances. Usually you get bigger fields ( especially grass meetings) which encourages good division and punting that help the industry so they can get a bigger piece of the TAB pie. This has been posted on the HRNZ website "
  5. So my 6 race multi I'll only get $2000 profit ? Even when adding the odds are like 13 k ? ( for a $1 bet ) Sept 3rd 2020 Targaryen $11 My Mate Ben $3 The High Ruler fav $2 Wattlebank Lass $2.50 Get Lucky $1.85 2nd (bad luck) I'm Watching You $8 Going by memory I did have a multi place bet on alll 6 and got it. Have had multis the added up to 7 figures but we're maxed out on return at $1,000,001 .
  6. Good down under race, only the 7 was bred in the Nothern Hemisphere. Aussie horse was good as any on its day and has the draw .
  7. Put it on free to air
  8. My question is why this has happened rather than the fact he has bought dogs to the races over many years all having been inspected by a vet prior to racing . Remember him having 3/4 of most sprint events on the card regularly back in the day
  9. Was listening to the radio (Senz) and they commented on the increase of banning offenses by players , most noticeably head contacts. Two of last weekends sending off involved head clashes .Surely these are accidential and have mitigating factors.?
  10. My profile picture is of Nativetouchoftexas bred by Melissa Whyte (nee Eden) .Definitely regard him as a Skewbald ( rather than Splashed). He stands somewhere in Aussie now.
  11. Might want to fill us in - missed the news
  12. Hot and Treacherous certainly got a good first four show. Hopelly even a better finish if there's good pressure up front.
  13. Stayed as they crossed the line. Simple Fisrt Four really. Today the two horse above quinelled the first race at Ashburton. Rush winning and Barrytown 2nd.
  14. They need to bring back Hail Christian for stud duties when he finished.
  15. Under inquiry, 4th horse galloping but I see the second horse went rough and interfered with Barrytown down the home straight. Driver of Barry town took evasive action. Good on Pillippa getting her horse home for the win after the bad luck with Ready I Am. I have the TFA but not thinking it will stay as it crossed the line.
  16. Well Done Phillipa, got the first winner at "The Mot" .today.
  17. It's their idea and Aussie had one pencilled in but not for this year. Just think David Branch (Cambridge) had the nouse to act quickly and get it up and going. Maybe an easy sell to HRNZ where HRA want more control.
  18. Looking at how many horses turned up for the Great Northern Derby (for 3yo's) this year , there would be even fewer 4yo's about if Akuta is around next year for a traditional 4yp Mile and Messenger. However lets hope that a couple of new 3yo's turn up for NZ Derby and actually beat him or push him real hard . They may just change it back to 4yo' s only..
  19. I had the TFA and that was more than halved. ! Initially paid over 2k . Had Quick Shot in my multi, but would not have minded if "The Boss" had won for my TFA bet.
  20. In 1989 the Taylor Mile (Lion Red Mile) had $125,000 prize money, two heats. The final was won by Kiwi Supreme from back row. The Messenger was worth $150,000 . Dillon Dean was the winner.
  21. I agree with you that very good trotting dams produce good progeny . Look at La Coocaracha, her offspring and her daughters produce the goods. Mataderos is her son.
  22. I think with no Jewels in June it does not give connections any aspirations for late autumn racing. Aged group racing has a part in NZ racing and a traditional one too and these two races should remain as 4yo only races. They are open to both sexes as well . On the calender changes it will be interesting to see how August racing stacks up because it is usually lacking of meetings/horses countrywide.
  23. Check the other thread and look what is posted The feelings of our harness enthusiasts are saying - e.g.. Saturday Aussie harness get a raw deal with no lead in comments when aussie gallops get it during the cross over hours. You don't often see a Aussiee gallops card get cut but Aussie harness does. So thanks to NZ TAB I missed Miss Camouflage's win 27/12/21 because no betting available - card cut . In Aussie she paid $41. Last week Marie Long ran 3rd. Aussie win closing quote was $12 so profit could have been made TFA, place etc. When I punt I base my bets around
  24. Think you totally missed the point. What interest would a harness enthusiast have with a galloping race at Chepstow ? Obviously your not a breeder or a harness participant handling horses. Those who are , are proud of what they do and the horses we are / or have been involved with. The other thing is that we would most likely not have an industry (or a poor one) without Australian interest in our stock. Not really sure why I'm replying to someone who calls themselves "We're Doomed" That in itself is negative.
  25. They all started with Hamiltonian and expanded from there. That's the standardbred for which we are inthusiastic about and this forum is all about.
