Dear Members and Trainers Thank you for your patience with the trial process while we are developing new sets of trial rules. The club is here to improve our trials, and limit the ability for any mistakes to happen. Less mistakes, means a safer trial for your dog. After last week, we have adjusted a couple of the rules. Below is the full set of rules, so all trainers know exactly what is allowed to do and what is not. These conditions will commence for race day on the 22nd February 2019 The new procedures are 1. Trials on race day must be out of the closed boxes and must either be a 305m trial, 520m trial or a 520m box to 520 m box trial. These trials may also be able to be done on a trial day. 2. Hand slips are only permitted on a non race day. Hand slips must finish with the lure pulling up at the "pirates" club rooms and must not exceed one full track length 3. Please let the 520m boxes go first. 4. All trainers to buy trial tickets from the secretary. Each trainer will need to fill out the trial ticket to explain the trial they wish to commence. If the ticket is not filled out, no trial,. The starters will not accept any verbal communications for trial distances. 5. Only the trials on the ticket will be allowed to commence 6. All dogs must be cleared to trial, without being on an injury stand down or have any suspected injuries 7. Trials will finish half an hour before the first race 8. There will only be 25 trials before the first race. All other trials will be held after the races on a Wednesday 9. There is no limit to the number of trials after the races 10. Trials booking for before the races will need to be done during the previous day, and should be lodged before 5pm on that day. Eg .. for trials on a Wednesday, Bookings need to be completed by Tuesday 5pm, and Trials on a Friday need to be booked in by Thursday 5pm. This should be via the secretary on the scratching line. Only reserve dogs are permitted to purchase a trial ticket on the day of the races. 11. All trial tickets will be numbered, and you must go in order. If you are not there when you dog number is up, then you will lose your place in the queue and will be trialled when possible. 12. Reserve dogs and qualification dogs will have preference in line of that box. Reserve dogs to report to the kennel steward who will be given a vest on presentation of their papers 13. During trials, there will be a limit of 2 dogs to one handler at all times Please be courteous to our staff, as we continually review these policies. You would be referring to this part of the fiasco Mike. "Recently one of the club members filed a claim in the Disputes Tribunal against the club. Due to the findings from the hearing and after seeking legal advice we are implementing immediate changes to the trial process to limit the club's liability. At this stage these changes are temporary measures until further notice. "

Sounds that way but I don't think so. At this stage it's more like who knows

Reserve dogs to report to the kennel steward who will be given a vest on presentation of their papers These procedures will occur on all trial days including Sundays.
  6. I met Ian when I got into Greyhounds. I was lucky enough to lease Ciame Go, Mistress Honcho and Iteru Ka from Ian and Ron which gave me a great start. He was always available to offer his support, advice and friendship freely. He pushed me to become a lure driver at Auckland and helped with my breeding program for my dogs. I will always be grateful to Ian for giving me a great introduction to racing and am honoured to have called him a friend. Rest in peace Ian
  7. Didn't start this thread to stir shit Scooby and it's sad that others feel the need to fling it. Only asking what a lot of people want to know
  8. I've never hidden who I am Scooby. You should know that
  9. Well considering I've never started a petition before why would I start now. And whoever you are that won't put your name to your post, what is wrong with asking a simple question without people like you turning it into a joke. Maybe you are one that doesn't want it to start?

  11. I was told over a month ago that this would be started within 2 weeks. Why are we still waiting?
  12. Go and read up on autism and then come back and tell me that. People also need to realise that he buried his grandfather the day before the incident at Wanganui and was told on that day that a certain person was going to bury him and his family. My son is 24 and has autism. I'm certain he would have reacted the same way in the same circumstances
  13. Maybe if that girl kept her hands to herself she wouldn't get herself in the shit
  14. There had been an incident at Wanganui track a couple of weeks before but my point is that he had done nothing on the day ( yesterday) before being banned. If he had been banned from all tracks then he should have been told beforehand and he wasn't
  15. It is a pretty sad state of affairs when a young autistic boy is banned from a track (for doing nothing wrong on the day) and forced to sit in his Uncles car on the main highway until the dogs have finished racing. The stipes involved should be ashamed of themselves.
  16. Maybe it's time we started standing up for the welfare of our dogs and pull them out when we feel the tracks aren't right. It's time trainers stuck together for once. We know what is best for our dogs, not the stipes. Yes I got fined and was given 28 days but I would do it again in a heartbeat because I would rather have my dogs to race again in 28 days than have broken down dogs or none at all. Welfare should come before the rules not the other way around.
  17. I have one that holds her line and from 3 starts has drawn 7 twice and 8. Has been bashed at 1st bend all 3 times and now has 3 lasts and will struggle to get starts or will become field shy. She holds her line and would love to see her get a fair chance. The other one runs to the rail and has had 2 box 1's and a 2 for her 3 starts but yesterday got slammed into the rail by 2 dogs coming across on to her. We have been wanting them to seed the dogs for years but has always been put in the too hard basket. You have my support for sure Glen
  18. The dog who won races is now 12, still has arthritis and is still not sore all the time.
  19. He is treated with injections and has nutri zing tablets. I also have arthritis and I am not sore all the time. He is not sore all the time. Raced a dog in the past with arthritis who was very competitive and won races who was not sore all the time.
  20. The dog is not sore all the time and he is being treated for it
  21. What Gavin neglected to mention in his report was the dog has arthritis in his wrists and when he has trialled on soft tracks he has pulled up sore. That track yesterday would have meant he would have been sore for a few days if I had run him. I chose what was in the best interest of my dog and I shouldn't have had to fight the stipe to do it. I will be taking it further but shouldn't have to as the welfare of the dogs is supposed to come first. Isn't it???? I made the right call for my dog and I would do it again
  22. Rummo has held the record for 15 straight wins since 1996. Swimming goat is the 1st to have equalled that record, not beaten it.
  23. My name is Sue Blackburn. Have never tried to hide who I am and never will.
  24. Bit over the top isn't it Scooby? How can you be sued when Charles has not named names. We all know there are cheats but none of us can prove it. What Charles is doing is pointing out some of the shady shit that goes on in this sport that we are already aware of. Surely we can state our opinions on here without the threat of being chucked off. Whatever happened to freedom of speech?
