Was reading the NZ TB News and it states:
Baby Guinness (NZ) (Stravinsky) is the first ballot, but the prospect of a track that is too wet for Guiseppina or a
track that is too good for No Excuse Maggie (NZ) (No Excuse Needed) - the horse James McDonald switches too should Guiseppina be scratched - could open the door for the Karen Fursdon and Gemma Sliz-trained mare.
So how is No Excuse Maggie been exempted from naming a rider hoping that Guiseppina scratches. I have only seen it before when no other riders available and they are specifically waiting for James McDonald? Its not like he is the regular rider of the horse - 3 rides for a 6th, 7th, 8th.
Anyone seen this happen before - and in a Group 1 race?
