Yes agree 100%. First bet I've had at addington for years that I knew I wouldn't see on tv as dont bet on races that Wilks commentates on that I can't watch as you never know where or how your dog is going unless he tipped it.

Is Richard Bromley the guy who is on Trackside Radio on Saturday afternoon/evening?  If so I agree entirely with the comments on here.  I don't think it's just his pronunciation of Aussie jockeys or place names - he really struggles to pronounce any name that isn't basic English.   I know it shouldn't bother me, but I would have thought that an ability to read and be widely-read was a prerequisite for a job of this kind.   He is woeful!

Must be a desperate to bet on aussie races? ,Well thats a great comment if i ever heard one.Why would someone bet on your 7000 dollar races in nz,when you have the best racing and jockeys racing for over 60,000 in the metro ares of aussie every weekend. I may be wrong,but i pretty sure people, rather have a bet at randwick then say  omakau.

Still have to say ... much easier listening than female presenters... male presenters talk more naturally and don't drawl their figures or end of sentences - "today" seems to get ransacked by female presenters regularly - personally would prefer all male presenters just because they talk without trying to sound like telephone operators plus their comments seem more real, not read off some script or TAB form print out, but from genuine interest and knowledge

No I can't remember any  about Greg - perhaps he just meant negative in general.
Greg is a good bloke and good for the industry - one of the very best on TV.
Mind you I think some of the TV and radio people are a little precious when dismissing "online warriors" as they call us sometimes. They have their own soapbox to say things - good on them. But they aren't always right, or sometimes are compromised by their employer or relationships in the industry.
In the same way we have some lunatics here - but mostly good people who love the game and in many cases spend lots of our $ in one way or another on the industry

   I cant see anything changing  too much. with the costs compared to stake money you can understand owners wanting early goers. One of the problems in harness as well  isas soon as a good one comes the aussie and usa chequebooks come out.
 
those who  u mentioned boy it made going to the races exciting didn't it.  now mostly ho hum. me and mates used to have big arguments who was better than  who-  Arapaho manaroa royal ascot  those are three that come to mind.delightful lady  hands down  etc etc.

I walked into a tab on Friday and got  a bet on to win a lot  more than2k  on kd hall a place- at 11's took very liitle time to approve- whats more mates got the same 11-1 quote a place for some time after in amounts to win about a  k or less and still got it up to  race time.
I don't use an account but   another mate got 100 on one in aussie at 28's that won. no doubt they restrict bets but not to 2k
