Reilly....people have stated either in the initial 2 threads or in today's selection thread. PJ's comment was pointed at the financials I presume i.e. We(those who have indicated they want to be in the sweep) have until noon Tuesday to pay the $20 entry.
Quick look and I can see 12, which includes Gruff (& PJ) who advised his intention in the original thread, in the sweep.

I think you should rethink dumping them out too .... Green Moon got stuck wide in a race that didnt suit. It was no disgrace to lose ground to the likes of Ocean Park and those 3yr olds.He raced like a stayer and its a rare horse that has the ability to go after both. He was favourite for some good reasons in the Cox. The Cox features the BEST horses in Australasia. He has a good jockey, light weight and great draw - from where he should get a lovely run in behind the pace. Absolutely should be in the first 8 home at least IMHO. Could easily win. I think the other two are good live chances also.

On a side note I really find it disappointing when you see horses like Brigantin,Shawardi, Gatewood missing out on a start when you have horse's like Unusual Suspect, Precedence, Voila Ici getting in. I would have thought the VRC would want the best field possible. I guess they know what they have to do to get in but still don't agree with it.

How you can say Glencadam Gold's win in the metrop was of a higher quality than Shawardi in the Herbert Power and deserved an extra 0.5kg penalty is crazy!

Certainly shambolic. Key points:
1. If the inside camera is not the one they rely on, then why does the producer show the print from that camera, thus adding to the confusion and doubt.
2. Why didn't they show the print from the fixed camera (if they did, I didn't see it)
3. In Aus, they have the photo up within 30 to 60 seconds of the horses crossing the line; why cannot we do that here?

A photo finish appeared on the screen very briefly......No time to study it but IMO it clearly showed Savvy on the line ,Spiro short of line but I am quite confident it only showed 2 horses , not the Fav.I was up briefly.I was flicking channels as I had an interest in result...a few $'s on tro.

When you've been burnt a few times with anything in life the "sunburn effect" can very easily come into play. Seeing a very good horse start at short odds storm home very late into fourth place is likely an example of that effect. Recently I watched a leading NSW female harness driver from a well known family adopt highly questionable tactics at the finish of a race. The horse was a noticeable drifter on the tote. In the last 100 metres she sat very quietly and ran fourth close up. Not her style at all. Ten days later the same horse was subjected to a significant late betting plunge. In the last 100 metres she drove like her very life depended on it and got up and won. No questions asked. I've got no issue as long as they are consistent.

I don't bet on the drivers challenge,but it is a pretty dumb decision that its at Auckland....with the Superior horses at Addington it's a no brainer that it should've been their.

I would have thought the drivers challange would be at Addington tonight with some cup horses going around and 11 races opposed to 10 in Auckland. How do the TAB decide which meeting to conduct the drivers challange on?
