  1. Animal rights nutters will win. All horses will be set free and all racing will be computer generated.
  2. Sorry not Sans Doute, was Rhetorical referred to in the 'orange' colours the race before SD.
  3. If you listened to Flemington yesterday you'd have heard the commentator say " and Sans Doute in the orange on the far side." Maybe should have gone to Specsavers.
  4. And I hope they don't have a rendition of the National Anthem(s) before the Cup. Hardly an event to celebrate.
  5. On one hand a few people still have respect for the national anthem and on the other hand it can be bloody hard to hear an interviewer with it blaring in the background. Interviewers don't seem to be very deep thinkers.
  6. That could probably apply to all the major syndicators, TA included. I would think not many of their over $300k buys would pay their way in NZ. Most recent comes to mind is Wolverine at $800k Aussie. Two ordinary runs and not in any big summer noms. I presume she's not being persevered with as a racing proposition.
  7. May have won had he stuck to the rail on the turn. Given the track upgrade seemed an odd move to me but he certainly rallied again late.
  8. And I hope they learn the pronunciation of Nebuchadnezzar before he races again. Had trialled so they had plenty of time but obviously never been to church or to school long enough to learn history.
  9. Personally I'd far rather hear Justin filling in than Rodley who has no interviewing technique or Leith who states the obvious in a voice that sounds like he's reading from a book. I did say 'personally '.
  10. Speaking of those horsemen " coming home", there's no doubting the horsemanship of the the O'Sullivan/Scott team but they seem to have become more solid since Paul came home. May be coincidence but just an observation.
  11. After the "worst drive ever" I wonder did any of the complainants think to talk directly to said driver about their view of the situation or was it simply easier to throw criticism under the cover of anonymity?
  12. And does it really matter who's here? McDonald, Kah, Shinn, Dolan, Doyle, Bosson, Kennedy, Dettori, Moreira et al, there's only one winner and the others, as good as they may be, are all down the track.
  13. She was riding work / working for TA though wasn't she? Ellis reported that in one of his news items I think.
  14. On a 700m track the mobile must be doing easily 25kph when it pulls away.
  15. Actually where and how many are actually being "ripped up" and how have they been made and how long have they been in use? Rather a vague statement I feel. Just asking.
  16. Watched the replay several times. Yes, BL got a wee bump but was never going to win once Waitak came on the scene. He simply had too much momentum.
  17. Not dissimilar to TBs. 23 trial races of 6-8 runners then for example, Te Aroha 20 horse fields scratched down to ten, eight or less.
  18. Probably first things first MJ. There are still horses in there dual accepted and we don't know which race they'll start in or if at all.
  19. Sounds incredibly similar to owning a racehorse lol.
  20. And I see Magnifique finished a minute down the track today too after performing at her pinnacle. Will that be another to head to the matrons paddock? I guess all will be revealed in time but basically I agree with your original post. The ones who come early (ish) don't hang around for long.
  21. If I didn't live three hours away I'd be there. A dozen trials this morning and sixty -odd horses giving the new surface a good workout. Could be a great spectacle for those who can make it out there.
  22. Simple answer Big Stuff, NZ can't afford them.
  23. I tend to think several jockeys gave up rather than the horses.
