  1. Young pup, you have missed the boat badly talking about the October 5 race . I assume you have done so because the two horses involved were present. You are really showing your ignorance here and your total lack of understanding of the poor error of judgement Mitchell made in the race on December 6. 1. Master George always had Glenferrie Duster covered in the October 5th race. 2. Glenferrie Duster had no horse on its outside and got off the trail without losing any momentum so was not disadvantaged at all with not taking the passing lane. Beaten fair and square on its merits. That you use this example as a comparison really shows your total lack of feel for harness racing. The December 6 race 1. Trinity Bromac would have beaten Glenferrie Duster in another stride. 2. The horse lost at least a length losing momentum clearing the trail. A certainty beaten. Now Mitchell had access to the passing lane and didn't take it. There was no off bias on the lane and it is very clear to anyone with half a brain cell that he made a serious error of judgement. No excuse for it. He cost his horse the win.
  2. Mitchell blew it. Had to use the passing lane and didn't. Beaten a head making a poor decision. Had the rights to the passing lane and didn't use it. Cost his horse at least a length at the top of the straight. Stipes should have charged him.
  3. Paid a nice place price after doing it tough the entire trip. Just wins Saturday night.
  4. Split second decisions are often the difference between winning and losing in all sports but Mitchell didn't need to make a split decision. He had 2 minutes to confirm what he needed to do. It was a no brainer. You trail all the way in a race, the leader takes you to the passing lane, you are going better than the leader, use the passing lane and win the race. By not taking the passing lane cost his horse a length at least. That was the ground the three back horse (who was gifted the passing lane) made up on him while he farted around getting off the rail. Dumb decision and beaten a head. Would have won easy. Why haven't the stipes charged him with not giving his horse every opportunity to win the race.
  5. Nothing against Todd Mitchell at all, he owes me nothing. I cleaned up when Homein Hosed beat Holmes DG in the 1999 cup. Still need an explanation as to why he didn't give his horse the best opportunity to win race 2 at Cambridge last Wednesday. The problem was he did lose momentum, cost him at least a length pulling out of trail. He goes the rail he wins easy.
  6. Would "have" won. Yes juiced up as I said the aftermath 5 days later when JI was disqualified.
  7. Correct Johnny Gee. Not quite old enough to see Johnny Globe although have read alot about him over the years.
  8. Mitchell had 122 seconds. He was always in the trail and if the leader took him to the passing lane he has to use it. Pulling it out cost him at least a length, he takes the passing lane the horse wins easy.
  9. Gruff you're just a clueless pup. I've been watching trotting races for almost 50 years. I vividly remember Johnny Globe winning the 1968 Banks Peninsula Trotting Cup with Wes Butt in the sulky. Had a decent wager on Junior's Image in the 1971 Interdom final at Addington and clearly recall the aftermath 5 days later. Spent a few days at Colin McDonald's place back in 1971 trainer of Hakim who became a cup class pacer. Those would be my earliest memories. I doubt you even go back to the eighties.
  10. Yes obviously Scott Dickson from Hunterville, that is an amateurish mistake to make.
  11. Of course he was trying to win you only have to see how aggressive he drove the horse in the last 150m to see that. Unfortunately he didn't give the horse the best chance of winning by failing to use the passing lane. If Mitchell had as he should the horse would have won comfortably. Linc's Son won that night using the lane. Under the bat on the turn and only reason he won was the dream run he got up the lane. Kingsman used it in race 5 and ran a close second. No other horse on the night was going any good in the trail to make use of it. It sounds like you are suggesting the reason he didn't use the lane was because it was slightly off and would have been a disadvantage which is absolute rubbish.
  12. This clearly answers your question. TAB entitled to refund original bet and not pay out. Unlike the Highgate punter who was given an obvious incorrect quote but the horse still was yet to win the race.
  13. That was impressive. Only third start back after almost 2 years away from the race track and won like a very good horse. I remember well his only previous win which was in the HB Guineas trial August 2014 where he absolutely donkey licked Turn Me Loose coming from 10 lengths off him on the turn. He may well go on to win them in a row.
  14. Mitchell charged with excessive use of the whip in final 400 metres and fined $200.00 The irony here is that had he taken the passing lane the horse would have won comfortably without the need to be driven hard to get up.
  15. Beaten well out last start (albeit used early) when stablemate MT Pockets won like a Sweet Talking Man or Elect to Live but won very easily tonight. On the topic of MT Pockets I see it is in again Alex Park Friday night. A rise in class but the way it won last start it probably would win again.
  16. Cambridge tonight Todd Mitchell clearly had access to the passing lane in Race 2 on Trinity Bromac yet doesn't take it and allows the three back Idealistic to use it. Cost it a length and the race. Talking through my pocket here as had $1 worth of first four with first and second around the other way but need this explained. https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/infohorsews/wsd06x?Arg=hrnzg-Ptype&Arg=RaceVideo&Arg=hrnzg-RacehdrID&Arg=246958
  17. Watched both episodes back to back last night. Top rider, top bloke and one amazing wife.
  18. Gee he had a great day yesterday. Not many better than CJ
  19. Vintage Crop of course won without a lead up race in Oz also in 1993. Incidentally like Rekindling did this year, it also won the Curragh Cup that year.
  20. Run of the race for me the way the race went. Last on the turn and looked anything but a hurdler the last 400 metres.
  21. 1ST PLACE THOMAS HOBSON 2ND PLACE REKINDLING LAST PLACE AMELIES STAR
  22. Why was it a pity? She had a chance to ride it in the Counties Cup and decided on another mount. Why should the owners stay loyal to her.
  23. It was also hilarious watching him trying to pull the ear plugs on Go Paddy on the first day
  24. The horse is a grinder. Better to have it out parked than waiting for a sprint up the passing lane.
