I don't really follow the industry a lot, just a casual observer but there are a few questions/points I had with the whole thing.... Why is an Australian having such a say in this? Is it that hard to find a Kiwi with no vested interests? Why cull Gore, but keep Waikouaiti? Gore is dual code and the track, from what I'm told, has pretty good drainage. Not to mention it is a lot handier for trainers further north. I was told Messara didn't even spend 5 minutes at Gore and didn't even look at the track.

It makes Sunday's decision to go ahead with racing look rediculous, if they are transferring two future meetings. Why was it ok to risk the jockey and horses safety on Sunday, but not Boxing Day?

Any info on how much it is to get on course today? What dis they do with all the corporates, tell them to sober up and come back today?

Happened to turn over to trackside and they were showing an old race from some grass track. Anyways, one horse had a lead of 100-150m and in the home straight started galloping and almost going backwards, ended up getting second. I missed what the race was and the name of the horse, anyone know? It was great entertainment!

I see this is the name of a race at AKl today, has SF had its last race? Sad if true!
