TOM(the other Molloy) reacted to puha in Scapolo's order of entry ranking in the Haunui
Would be good to get the explanation then.

TOM(the other Molloy) got a reaction from Aaron Bidlake in Scapolo's order of entry ranking in the Haunui
Someone will know this - how come Scapolo has a 102 rating(only two rated higher) but is the number 12 ranked in order of entry?
Pretty good horse who has earned his rating but if the handicapper says he is a 102 how come the WFA scale says he is the 12th ranked?
I'm not a student of this type of thing so trust someone will enlighten me

TOM(the other Molloy) got a reaction from Belinda in Michael Pitman
Thats not very charitable Portfolio. Cubes can have his horses wherever he wants. The man who does the paying does the saying.
Good luck with your horses Cubes. I hope the next one is a dead set champion whoever trains it. Clearly you have a sense of humour and I would love to see you at Reefton one day.

TOM(the other Molloy) got a reaction from Richard Cave in Michael Pitman
Though not in the class of El Chico The Governator was another example of M Pitman and team turning a cast off around. Arrived at his place from up north with four duck eggs beside his name and was soon back at Trentham for Cup week starting three times in the week for two wins and a third. Tragically had to be put down afterwards but those days at Trentham were some of my best times in racing(I was lucky enough to have a quarter share in the horse with Michael and John Carran) and i wasn't even on course.

TOM(the other Molloy) got a reaction from elbow in Michael Pitman
That is what someone( I am not saying who) who would know told M Pitman at the time. I hope Michael does not mind me repeating the story.
Bearing in mind that that deal was done before Kawi was even born.
El Chico - a great success story for some of my favourite people in racing - John and Evelyn(who sadly passed away last year) Carran and MR Pitman.

Remember it’s not a level playing field top end yards get the 100 k plus horses and the rest of us make do with lower end horses in dollar terms . Smaller stables have just as much commitment and horsemanship but are at a disadvantage with the quality of horse that first arrives if your talking numbers.Great game as one out of the box can turn up in any stable no matter the breeding or price it was purchased for.Hoping you get one Cubes you deserve it .

TOM(the other Molloy) reacted to Portfolio in Michael Pitman
Not trying to offend cubes, don’t know him but seems a good bloke.
But just saying, sometimes owners keep loyal a little longer than they should.

TOM(the other Molloy) reacted to Tauhei Notts in Jockey comments Ellerslie's meeting - Sat, 17 Feb
Spare a thought for the owners of Zacada. His jockey said, and I kid you not, "they went too slow so I only came eighth."
That is the sort of logic that would make her a brilliant cost accountant for Fletcher Building.

Gruff
El Chico never had 3 starts in 9 days with us ever
Only time I considered taking him to the Telegraph he finished 3rd then won the Listed Timaru Herald Stakes (which he ended up winning 3 times) 7 days later

I've pissed him off in my time but he has been a good friend to the Reefton JC. The motto is don't bite the hand that feeds you. Greymouth was the Club that lost his usual boxes to fire then told him there were none available when he wanted some. His reaction? I won't come back. There are plenty of better stake racedays at Riccarton anyway. Closer to home and a vastly superior track to the Coast and/or Invercargill.

TOM(the other Molloy) reacted to Midget in gisborne sunday
Went there 2 years ago and they offered the best deal ever offered, from memory it was $200 per starter,3 days accommodation at a nice motel and there was something else but Alzheimer's is a buggar.
The club also had a 10k Trainers prize and unbelievably Kevin Myers had 4plus winners and ran 2nd as each starter earned points and Rogie had float loads of starters

TOM(the other Molloy) got a reaction from Belinda in Te Aroha
Just proves there is a place for everyone(although not sure exactly which place suits the halfwits running the industry)

TOM(the other Molloy) reacted to Insider in Te Aroha
With all this rain, and no racing Te Aroha should have a fantastic surface for the NZ Thoroughbred Breeders (Group 1) meeting later on.
Surely it can’t keep rain in the north?
Te Aroha would no doubt love to have their most important meeting back home after last years disappointment of racing at Te Rapa.
