  1. Oh, what a bugger, I thought it was only 4yo, his horse is Lancewood Lizzie that he owns 1/2 of, gorgeous mare Adore Me:)
  2. Hi, my friend has a horse nominated for 4yo pacing mare of the season. My question, where could I go to find nominations for this award to forward onto him? TIA:)
  3. I made a mistake with brand, it is a MAGIC BREED.
  4. I have one of these with 2 collars, not used for 5 years and only used for about 10 foalings, if anyone wants one let me know and I will put on the classifieds page. Has been stored in the warddrobe:)
  5. I think a few months back they were fetching $200 at the sales here in Tuakau, I hardly ever go to Countdown, but went there on Saturday and got some reduced to clear boneless lamb steaks, very tender, which was good as sometimes I find chops very tough and have been putting them in the crockpot as of late:)
  6. also manuka does not produce each year, I believe it failed up north this year..
  7. Yes it is great, we are beekeepers, we do not do manuka honey, (have a market we cannot fill every year of comb honey to America,) but ordinary honey was used in the wars for burns. I had a horse strip to the bone hock to fetlock, got a huge cauliflower proudflesh, I just put ordinary honey on, and all the scar was,was a line of the stitches. Apparently, Pennyroyal honey has very high antibacterial levels in it, tastes as bad as it smells:)
  8. Well, I enjoyed watching him run today:-)
  9. I loved this horse, I think Jim Campin, some one else will correct if I am wrong..
  10. Mmmmmm, u may b right, did that horse not die soon after?? Read the book, fantastic, learnt a lot about Sir Patrick.
  11. I agree with Pam, recently read his book, Give a Man a Horse, pretty sure from memory it was Blueskin 11. Great book too, recommend read to all:-)
  12. Sorry to hear about yr foal, awesome of you to offer yr mare. I've been both sides, quite a few years back my A grade horse had a dummy foal, which died, she then raised a Sir Tristram colt, had a mare have a huge Tights colt, she haemorraged and we had to take foal off her, we put her down after 10 days, and my last breeding exercise, mare died within minutes of foaling, never saw her foal, got a fantastic mum for her, she saw foal and just had to have her. Lifesaver for orphan foal owner if mare becomes available, I had a year old son when my mare died, getting up every hour and a half to feed foal, was very exhausting.
