  1. Was when I looked - but now revealed Tim at Addington Johnny at Auckland.
  2. Johnny Dunn & Tim Williams show why they the best - not many can have multiple drives at both Addington & Alexandra Park on the same night!
  3. Will never happen - that sort of thinking been rejected by "those who know better" before. Agree with you lamour not only for Addington but many other mid weekers.
  4. If they shut it down like you say, all stock would be moved either south or across the ditch. So we would never have 'some horses" to recommence with. They need to do something more drastic - like ban export of mares. I presume your tongue is well & truly lodged in your cheek!
  5. Dear Jacinda: You may have run away From your five years in the sun But I will not forgive you For the damage you have done Our beautiful New Zealand Can it ever be the same? Now ravaged by division And you alone to blame You've left us with so much to fix You've made things so much worse Your reckless overspending Has drained the public purse Children still in poverty Criminals running rife Race based legislation Set to ruin Kiwi life You grasped your socialist dagger And you plunged it in our heart Creating vile apartheid Which will tear us all apart So I'm glad you're gone, Jacinda, But does Hipkins wear your smile? I fear the face of innocence Just masks the crocodile.
  6. Perhaps uncertainty of regular Cook Strait ferry sailings having an effect on Palmie?
  7. This is the crux of Jamie's ultimatum The electronic survey link below allows for your feedback on your preference for where ATC members should have access to on race nights; Lyell Creek Lounge or Top of The Park. Note the bold print! 4 days for the members to choose. And Jamie hasn't even had the decency to inform the members what his plans are anyway. The least he could have done is call a Special General Meeting. Sorry Jamie - it's a case of who or what goes first. The club or you. Location Epsom, Auckland Coordinates Coordinates: 36.8911°S 174.7781°E Owned by Auckland Trotting Club Date opened 1890; 133 years ago Race type Harness racing 133 years down the gurgler in 4 days.
  8. Email from the club to members.

    The Toss

I was never much good at the toss. I only got it right half of the time!
  10. Just when you thought it was all over, the ATC board now want to "get rid of" further space at the park - prime viewing too!
  11. Racing returned - the crowd didn't
  12. With regard to the pool sizes around these days, to get a start owners/trainers will just have to get used to the fact that intermediate and above horses will have to accept they either start in handicap stands or conversely not nominate. Sorry, it's just a "fact of life" for which there does not seem to be any solution. The way horses are being ferried across the ditch lately the problem is only going to worsen. The magic wand has long been lost!
  13. Damn - I never realised that! Not many Pacific Islandres play it - it must be too genteel
  14. New Zealand was always great at Football - until some clown changed the name to Rugby! Now they useless at Football.
  15. TAB rules. Have you noticed there are more & more tips for the exotics lately.
  16. My first start as an owner was at Alex Park with Crystal Dee. When I arrived at the stables Wolfie came up to me sheepishly and said he was sorry. I said what for. He said he hadn''t noticed the race was a mobile and the horse (a squaregaiater) had never been behind the mobile arm in training so not to expect anything. Ross took her out gently and she got well back. Turning for home Reg Clapp said "and where's the favourite Crystal Dee? Oh she's too far back. A storming finish and we got the victors photo. First horse ever to the races and a winner! Wolfie would never say the horse was a certainty. A quiet she's been working well through the week and if she gets a clean getaway and if she gets a nice run and if she gets no interference she should finish in the money meant empty your pockets lol. We remained good friends ever since. My condolences to Lois and the family on their loss.
  17. The tall poppy syndrome strikes again
  18. Time for TAB operation to be investigated? Their take from the pools continues to balloon.
  19. Khalua Flybye races at Menangle tomorrow. Race 7 no.7 - Tim drives
  20. By moving to Melton & Menangle attendance has plummeted I believe. Got to bring the product to the people because they wont go to product week in week out when other attractions near at hand.
  21. 1) Pukekohe all operational - no problems for trainers. Workouts there Saturday. 2) Magic Millions meeting 17th at Cambridge. The ATC will be runniing a Race Night as usual except there will be no horses there. LOL They will be opening the ALex/Elsu areas and screening all races over the TV's. Betting facilities will be available as per a usual race night. Make up a party and go along. Of course also as usual the TAB will be open. Refreshments & food also as usual. There is a possibility this situation may be continued for future meetings shifted to Cambridge.
  22. All February ATC meetings transferred to Cambridge
  23. Auckland media is so left wing. They never learnt from another Brown!
  24. This thread was not about racing, it was about field composition!
