Just a (stupid?) thought - should jockeys (and drivers) not be suspended for race misdemeanours but fined much more heavily in relation to the stake won from the race. Perhaps up to 2 and a half times the horsepersons stake for the particular race in question and certainly more than they receive for that particular race. This would ensure - particularly on group races - that a lot of the annoying incidents would be drastically reduced. Also other innocent owners/trainers would not also be punished by their rider not being available.

Times for first three races announced on Tuesday for Cambridge tonight have been changed - beware!
