Mike agree 100pc...until we get the right inforstructor eill fo no were...breaking in pups is so hard and time consuming....I've said all along if grnz used there brains they would set up levin with a track and employ a specialist person to over see breaking in and at the same time have a training venue for young people coming through..

But in saying that I think for the future of greyhound racing auckland and waikato should combine into one club....resite at suitable site and have a 2 turn track and 1 turn track like Melbourne.....build there own sports bar grandstand  like cambridge and run it with pokies and have it open 7 days...also provide a straight track for training and breaking in purposes .

Think you are on the wrong page...the curator that came to manukau was from  Melbourne and is still the head curator over there...his recommendations were not implemented at all.....it went back to the same old thing.....it was one reason I got of the committee at auckland......dosnt matter what the committee decides robers and Robert's do what they want....the camber changed back to what it was when the track was built...nothing to do with any abandonment...

Amazing now the tracks ready and you can trial friday?????so will it be the same mutton heads that decided the track carnt ne fixed that now decide after 2days it's all good.....unbelievable 

I can tell you without a doubt if the pentrometer  read 40..there is no way a dog could break 21....my own pup improved from over 22 to run 21.66......either someone is telling porky's or the pentrometer is not working....by the way the pentrometer is a jacked up peice of metal dropping through a plastic tube ....many things can happen like it not being dropped properly to under dropping of it....it is just a guide not a measured tool and should be treated in that way....sometimes a softer track is safer than a hard track...

This also begs the question...why are we mucking around with homemade petrometres...why have the riu not invested in professional depth reading machines......its a joke

Corey. If the club had identified that the track was not fit to race on Thursday then they should have called off trials yesterday. I would imagine if I had been trialing a Pinny Mack or Bigtime Paddy and they had broke down when the club knew the track was unsafe I would be after them like the RIU after a trotting driver. ( I could have remained with the dogs and said like the RIU after a greyhound trainer but that would be far too slow and ineffective)

One of the most experienced people with track management at Cambridge would be Peter Henley and he was telling people the track was in good order and great to run on

Were did you hear that....the club still has years left on there lease and it is zoned recreational..so will never be housing..

I believe it was Mario ba sari....couldn't inform us Gordon because it would be a  conflict of interest being CEO as well as part of this futures board......so why was he there and why hasn't this been discussed with the grassroots......time for him to look at himself.....we dont need another secretive leader that has there own agenda..

I have found two paragraphs dealing with "Other Codes on page 73.
Apparently the greyhounds are talking about reducing the 7 tracks to 3 over a period of 10 years.

Still after reading it I fail to see were greyhounds or trotting are going to improve....this report is all about gallops.....only part is this tab out sourcing....but surely if winston wanted to do something he should revamp our tab....I dont know about anyone else but in my area we have had 3 pod machines taken out of 3 local hotels in the last 12mnths....in my opinion it's like poker machines there should be more pods around to increase turnover....every club and hotel in nz should have one....put them in shopping malls as well......not all people want a tab account and want to bet on phones......in my local the pod used to be a focal point for farmers and people to get together.....to the degree they used to organize trips to the races and want to buy shares in horses and dogs.....now the punters club is dead and no one watches or talks racing......get the basics right first as without grassroot people in racing no matter what you do it wont change things.....this report is exactly winston as was the last time he had control.....a quick fix and then we are in the s...t  again....we need to rebuild the interest in racing.....taking pods away...stopping families going into the centre on new years day at ellerslie watching the auckland cup...they have turned a generation away all for the corporates ..now they are looking at stealing club land to make the rich richer.

Mike....1...to be honest to the average greyhound person the timing is wrong...to get there after racing on Thursday is impossible for most....2..if we turn up and listen ..what questions will winston answer...when he was racing minister in his last life at a luncheon at the northshore rugby club I asked him why he blew all the government money givin to the racing industry on 3 races......I got cut off and was told to sit down.....no different this time..he is the most failed politician in my lifetime...only he thinks he's good...if he can get something free out of it he will....its not going to benefit greyhounds full stop...winston will get a couple of free horses and the wealthy trainers and owners will get richer.....and ge eill end up with free lunches and whiskey.....so no sadly I carnt make it .

Emotive would have been well aware of the $50 fee for all, and was commenting that in their opinion there should be another $100 for mass breeders.
How you can determine from that  that Emotive races a lot of imports is beyond belief and if Emotive does then it is of no consequence to their opinion.
Emotive's comments highlight a comment I have made on here a few times recently. Greyhound racing in NZ under the current circumstances is not sustainable
