Mike ,the dogs come first to me not the club or the board of greyhound racing.....another two career ending hock injuries at Auckland today.....when are these guys going to spend the money to redo all tracks in NZ with new sand and putting them back to the gradients they were designed to be when built, instead of all this other stuff they go on about that all it does is employ some more staff-----Gezz there wont be room for the public soon at the awards night , our board will take the room up on there own.....

Still waiting for him to come back to me after 12mnths to tell me what makes a full field under the rules 8 or 10 dogs,,,,,he is still looking into it.

The point is it was not in the stipes report, the dog is normally a box first, today it was boxed last or second to last ( I would request a photo finish on who was last ),,the starter has obligations under the rules,,, the stipe is there to enforce the rules,, but nothing was mentioned or done, even after a text to the head stipe ( and with a reply from him ) nothing was still mentioned........And Craig talk to Ross, but take a mirror with you because he will be looking into it//////

Today at Auckland in race 4 the 3 dog was the last to box, first of all the starter should not have let the even dogs box until the 3 was in the boxes, but no he did.....the problem comes that there are rules and it seems our stipes do not understand them, in horse racing there would be a inquiry...but not in greyhounds, in fact no mention....does it make a difference? cause it does because there are rules that say odd dogs have to be boxed first.

Amazing,,,,,,nobody checked if the track had damage ,lets just carry on and run the next race on time,,,,,,where was our welfare officer? Man this board has lost the plot.

No wonder they struggle to get sponsors, this trophy deserves to be scheduled like any other feature, last year it was thrown in as a c3 race, this year it just popped up as c5 race with nobody knowing that it was even going to be run or that they were nominating for it.....

We won the Kevin Coutts memorial last year, when we did not know we here racing for a cup until it was presented to us after the race.......To pam and her family it was one off the largest trophy's I have seen in greyhound racing and one of the proudest for us to win...........Today I say sorry to Allison lee,pam and the connections of the winner today for not having the trophy there.......Again the club never called noms for such a fantastic trophy and neither did I realise it was being run today, we have had no contact from the club at all ,and as most know my partner is on there committee....to me a disgrace and a huge hurt to let these people down....and worst of all we had a dog in the race......Again sorry

Gezz flame stop you have to be a kiwi ( the class is half empty ),,, did thrilling brat not win a group one in aussie, did clone your own not win a $ 70,000 to the winner group 2 race in melbourne ,oh bugger they are the only ones who have gone over as nz breds, o' sorry then there was dave and jeans staying dog that won a group one in sydney.........shit have we failed,, don't think so

This thread was started because I do not believe sprints should be Group ones,, I don't care if they have $100,000 sprint races, if clubs want to put up the funds, but just not run as group ones.....Greyhound nz should not be telling clubs that they can call them G1'S but they wont fund it, next we will have a Group one Maiden sprint, because some wealthy owner wants it, and our board members need his vote to stay in power..

dusty again the point is every horse gets a chance,300mtr dog races do not give the same, its luck .

My point is still,that no where in the greyhound world do they have a group one sprint, all this will do is increase sprinters coming to nz, which is what I thought they were trying to stop by putting a $5oo import fee on aussie dogs....sprints are like the lotto races of greyhounds,jump and you win...

Why do they deserve it, greyhound nz are doing the cop out , you can have it as a group one but we are not funding it, but hello under there own rules if they make it a group one they have to fund it.....and gary you are right the aussies are laughing there tit's off, all of a sudden there sprinters can come to nz and win a group one, great for breeding,no where else in the world could this happen,as I said GO GREYHOUND NZ

These two sprint races are now going to be the same stake as the nz derby, nz oaks, waterloo cup, wanganui cup, I tell you what if I win one they can stick there trophy up there,,,,,,,,,s

These half wits are now going to make a group 2 sqip race into a group one, ,same stake as the time honoured group one waterloo cup, why would not increase the waterloo cup stake instead of making the lotto railway sprint equal in stakes.....John Roberts you have already lost the plot as I believe it is your idea to change this.....couple of sprinters coming ...???????

This is swip is not a c5 dog, and only a average c4 dog, she has not come back from a false season and has lost her confidence, we tried the pill on her and I now wish we didn't...one reason why we will not be taking any outside bitches anymore, we will just race our own and the ones we have already have.

I understand two nz trainers have already been targeted to see if they will move to china, and I will give you the tip they have been offered more than our Prime minister earns....intresting times

Sorry all I wanted to know is why the race name come about, as I said dad won it I think about 20yrs ago and it was a sprint..

We won this race 20 years ago with a sprinter, just having a look at the trophy it was a c3 305,,,,can someone enlight us to what did spion rose do to get a group one named after her???????
