Obviously you can not read amongst your many other failings. The report says that if you are testing for Covid 19 then a viral test rather than antibodies test should be made. If an antibodies test is made then it may pick up other corona viruses. Hence test for covid 19 are viral tests

As I've said before Meome, I hope your knowledge about horses is far better than your knowledge on this subject. My God you post some rubbish and this post is one of your worst. What do you do, make it up as you go along?

Pam, Im not aware of Leggy's Significant academic achievement and neither would it have made any difference to my post. As another poster stated he was responding with smart answers which left everybody wondering what he was talking about. If he knows more why doesn't he tell us instead of making posts that inferred we were all ignorant and only he had the answers. There are many of us on this site with considerable experience and involvement in racing and also have very succesful academic backgrounds

Leggy, my response was directed at Pam who made an unwarranted and unnecessary post criticising me for daring to ask a question of you. It is my understanding, that in recent times funding from pokies has gone towards supporting the RIU

Good point. Everythings too top heavy. Could you tell me what the point is in appointing independent board members for HRNZ. If they have little or no knowledge of racing what good are they?

I agree if you divide the distribution by the reduced numbers of races the average race stake should be up. If a horse is good enough it will still be able to win as much if not more money

Agreed Poundforpound, which is why I am disappointed that the proposed structures to ensure that there was some accountability by the RIU for their actions, were not put in place

The split last season for harness was 29-30%
My information is that our code share share of betting is down so no doubt the gallops will want more, leaving harness with less
The age old argument from the Thoroughbred code is that they deserve all the betting on Aussie gallops, the argument from harness in part is that they moved off Saturday’s to make way for Aussie gallops in anticipation of a return
The other argument is why Thoroughbreds think they deserve the betting on an Aussie race that they have not contributed stakes, starters, trainers of jockeys to, just because it is a gallops race. They are very passionate about that. The other side of the coin is if that’s the direction that we head in is that there should be a revamp of dates so that Thoroughbreds don’t have all the prime time, like the Saturdays aforementioned

Harness Racing turnover this season is down on even the Greyhound turnover on far less race meetings and actual races of course. The new boarrd is going to face a very dificult decision at it's initial meeting, given that it takes control on the 1st August. RITA and the codes will need to make sure competent people are appointed quickly, and if it is to make any progress these people will need to be prepared to make compromises

Barry, thanks for your article. I haven't seen any information on the code split of the distribution. Do you have any information on that

I believe there needs to be an avenue for a complaints procedure against the board as the police have.  Any organisation accountable only to themselves runs the risk of going off the rails occasionally.

Stables reacted to Mattski in $139.6m Funding - Question please
Q1 - I am just wondering what this level of funding is likely to convert to in terms of say R72 and R82 horses racing on a Saturday thanks? How does $140m odd compare to the funding level in 2019/20?
Q2 - I can't believe that we're paying $17m (?) odd a year ongoing for a very average web site on top of the huge initial bill. My Q is if TAB NZ is a new entity from 1 Aug is it legally obliged to continue paying this? Why not liquidate the original TAB and tell the people who sold us the original web site to get stuffed?  (I am prob somewhat naive!).
    Thanks, Matt

If funding is reduced by 25%, as indicated by Holden, it is imperative that this reduction should be made at the top level. For example, the New Zealand Cup could be run for $150,000 rather than $600,000 and still have the same field. Stakes at the lower level are already way too low. If you win a race you would be lucky if the stake won would cover 2 months training fees. If racing is going to continue there must be incentives at the lower end to at least give owners a chance of covering costs

Mikie does have an extensive knowledge of the industry, but has not been invoved for some time. I agree that my background would be similar to yours but I believe mine would be a greater and more current vested interest
