If you read my post it says exactly what you said. Horse can't go at a higher speed but the can go faster over a distance. So a horse can go faster! Believe what you want to believe. But I am of the opinion if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is.

The thing is, when you let something like this drag on and on and on, no one cares anymore. The saddest part about it all, this typifies greyhound racing in NZ, like this thread no one cares, there are the few in the industry that dominate everything starting at the top, but for the average person like myself that used to love participating it's dead and buried. There is nothing to attract ownership, dont get me wrong, there are some real good people there, but they must find it bloody hard to compete with the dominaters. It's just as ridiculous when you think about the poor punter looking at the fields being dominated by the few also, the fun and interest has gone.

Perhaps you morons could have a look at my posts and show me where I have accused Purdon of doing anything other than his involvement in the Blue Magic saga. As for your rant Iraklis, I have long since stopped reading any of your childish nonsense

Everyone is conflicted here because it’s a small industry.
I’m told Macintyre was an appalling witness at this hearing.....go check how many fronts he’s conflicted on by familial relationships to those involved, not to mention “other” areas he may be involved in that might not stand close scrutiny
I stand by my earlier assertion though that generally speaking the JCA members are fair and reasonable so fingers crossed justice will be done here

Westland is just crapping on Owners , Trainers and anyone who is involved in the industry . Racing can just sit back and do nothing and eventually fold , the Messara recommendations are all we have and is racings last chance to better itself , when a club that has been supported by participants since 1866 pulls a stunt like this only deserve contempt . Any industry participant who has supported Westland in the past has just been crapped on .
The Westland Racing Club was established in 1866 and has raced at the current Hokitika track since 1884 , the founders the Westland  racing club would turn in their graves when they see their investment not used for  racing , this move is garbage .

The RIU are pressing charges against many of the accused that have had their criminal charges dropped. This is grossly unfair and in my opinion unscrupulous and malicious. Where is the decency and justice iin filing charges against people who have had charges dropped, due to no evidence, in a higher court. Talk about double jeapordy

The RIU should never have been estalished. Stipendiary stewards were previously employed by each of the codes and so their behaviour was controlled by the management and board of the code employing them. Since the RIU was established it has employed more and more people and established their own administrative system. Costs have escalated and the egos of the Stpendiary stewards have soared as their power is less and less restrained. It's time for this experiment to be discontinued and for stipendiary control placed back under the management of each of the 3 racing codes.

You know this happens every week, aye JJ?
I'm all for a good criticism when justified, but this post is so far off the mark in it's direction and intent it's not funny.
When fields are first produced onto the HRNZ website, last start drivers are automatically upload with the first update. You'll see blank driver spaces at this stage because there is likely to be a conflict in driver as in, multiple drives in each race, suspended drivers, ineligible drivers etc... once drivers are confirmed to the Club, then the appropriate actions are undertaken.
    Second point....
Driver allocations and bookings aren't handled by HRNZ. These are done by the respective racing secretaries who update as they are provided the information from trainers.
As mentioned above, never pay too much attention until the cut-off for driver notifications.
Is there a flaw in this process that led you to think this? Quite possibly. But it would be far worse if it was still showing RT as driving at both meetings today as opposed to yesterday morning before driver notifications closed.  Perhaps no drivers should be automatically uploaded until confirmation time. Then, in most cases - you'll have no drivers listed in publications and newspapers.

    Dear Lloyd,
The dates for the 2018/19 season were released as far back as June of 2018. The fact that only now have you brought it up is obviously because, until today, you had not realised that the 2 Metropolitan Clubs were racing against each other. Your thinking appears to be that the Inter Dominions are sacrosanct, and they should have a night on their own. I would usually agree with you without reservation but since your Club can only attract 26 pacers, and some of them completely outclassed, my support for your view isn't as strong as it would normally be if that were the only reason you are complaining.
I do agree however, because the problem of the 2 Clubs racing against each other isn't confined to this Friday night, to me it is any Friday night that they compete with each other. It is a fact that the TAB turnovers of the 2 Clubs added together on any Friday night is 33% less than an average night a decade ago of 1 Club and the trending of this has been consistent ever since they started racing on the same night. Consistently trending down.
I have been told the on-course and TAB turnovers of a recent Friday night at Alexandra Park which I won't repeat on here until I check for myself. It is not that I doubt my source but I just don't like presenting something as a fact unlessI can verify it. Suffice to say that it was a mile night that apparently is "a real attraction" according to your Racing Manager. The Turnovers that were achieved both on and off-course would be disheartening to the Taupo or Westland Racing Club racing on a Tuesday in June on a Heavy 10 track. Haven''t you ever wondered why they stopped publishing the Turnovers in the Weekly or online?
The Harness Racing Industry made a huge blunder in giving up Saturday nights in order that the Thoroughbred code could run 2 or 3 domestic meetings on a Saturday and then beam in the Australian races without what they termed interference
The answer is for Alexandra Park to race on Saturday nights. The reason for leaving Addington on Friday nights is because 1. the South Island's Canterbury area can sustain another meeting on the Sunday whereas Auckland cannot  2. traffic as mentioned by Stables and 3. to stop cannibalising the TAB turnover
The only reasons that I have ever been given in opposition to this happening is Alexandra Park bleating that they have a lot of functions on a Saturday night. Given the turnover for a night's on-course betting the patrons at a race-meeting would not put any pressure on function rooms. We are talking of 5 figures, low 5 figures, not 6 figures. If you took away trainers and drivers the balance of the 'crowd' could probably all fit in theTAB area of the Sports Bar.
I am well aware that about 4 seasons ago they conducted a trial of 4 Saturdays from memory with harness racing. The trial wasn't successful but it was never going to be when you were trying to change a decade or more of habits ingrained in people. Even I, a devoted gambler back then, couldn't get back into the habit of watching on a Saturday night and I missed watching all but 1 of the nights.
The answer was simple Lloyd, people like you and Tim Vince (whom I have a lot of time for) needed to clean out the Committee and get in charge and make decisions like these. The answer isn't that simple now because I doubt that many people want to be on the Committee with the building project issues. I can hold my head up high as regards this disaster, I asked the late President before a sod was turned why the Club was engaging in a risk prone endeavour instead of merely selling the land and letting someone else take the risk. His reply at the time I remember did assuage my concerns a little bit, and of course no one knows what sort of influence he may have had on the whole matter if he had still been around., his own success would indicate that he probably would have been a huge help
