  1. Agreed Poundforpound, which is why I am disappointed that the proposed structures to ensure that there was some accountability by the RIU for their actions, were not put in place
  2. Pam, Im not aware of Leggy's Significant academic achievement and neither would it have made any difference to my post. As another poster stated he was responding with smart answers which left everybody wondering what he was talking about. If he knows more why doesn't he tell us instead of making posts that inferred we were all ignorant and only he had the answers. There are many of us on this site with considerable experience and involvement in racing and also have very succesful academic backgrounds
  3. Harness Racing turnover this season is down on even the Greyhound turnover on far less race meetings and actual races of course. The new boarrd is going to face a very dificult decision at it's initial meeting, given that it takes control on the 1st August. RITA and the codes will need to make sure competent people are appointed quickly, and if it is to make any progress these people will need to be prepared to make compromises
  4. Leggy, my response was directed at Pam who made an unwarranted and unnecessary post criticising me for daring to ask a question of you. It is my understanding, that in recent times funding from pokies has gone towards supporting the RIU
  5. Leggy, I suggest you provide some clarification of what exacltly you are talking about. How can I respond to your statement when what you are referring to is so unclear
  6. Mind your own business Pam, is Leggy not capable of defending himself
  7. There's no such thing as justice in New Zealand. It's just a huge money making machine for Barristers and Solicitors
  8. Typical response of a person who has no idea what he's talking about
  9. Barry, thanks for your article. I haven't seen any information on the code split of the distribution. Do you have any information on that
  10. Does anybody know the split between each of the codes?
  11. That is no change from what already exists
  12. We had better put gloves on his hands so he can't work a keyboard
  13. Sorry, there is nothing there about restructuring the RIU. The making of rules has always been a code responsebility. There is no change there
  14. I understood that a restructuring of the Racing Integrity Unit was to be included as part of the Racing Bill recently enacted by Parliament. Did that occur or has it all been swept under the carpet?
  15. Some will, some won't. It's going to depend upon the stance of the inhabitants of the local towns. Not just the club committees
  16. Not my best post Mike
  17. Mike, your responses to JJ Flash are aggressive and not necessary. Surely we can debate issues without your over the top responses. You refer to P4P being aggressive and I would agree with you, but we don't want another P4P on this site, one is more than enough
  18. Too late I'm afraid, the Bill has had it's third reading in the house and the process of the Governor General signing it off has begun. The Bill is now the law of the land
  19. This comment was not directed at you, it was in reply to Tasman Mans statement that I am an amateur participant that makes the odd inane post. I'm well aware of your involvement in the industry and I am always interedsted to read your posts as they generally add a lot to the subject being debated. My one concern is your hyper agrressiveness to even the remotest indication of criticism towards you
  20. Where can I get a copy?
  21. Mikie does have an extensive knowledge of the industry, but has not been invoved for some time. I agree that my background would be similar to yours but I believe mine would be a greater and more current vested interest
  22. Tasman Man, the breeding side of the industry is already stuffed. If racing takes your path the whole industry will be gone
  23. Those figures are extremely good Shane. If that momentum continues it won't take too long to turn things round
