  1. You are right to a certain degree Mike, but the fact is because of our committee structure we're now in the shit, because people with no real knowledge of the game have put the current Board in charge. This Board, with our part time chief executive are now going to have to argue Harness racings case to hold onto the funding levels we have had in the past. How do you think they will fare?
  2. In recent years yes
  3. No it's really me Mike. The problems we are having with the Management of HRNZ at both Executive and Board level stem from the system that the industry operates under. The decision makers all the way through are at Committee level from the Clubs to the Board of HRNZ. The people that have real skin in the game like Trainers, owners, drivers and breeders have no input into the management of their industry. If a committee person or a Board member make wrong or poor decisions it has no real effect on them. If it's bad enough they might have to resign their position. The people who have a considerable financial investment in the industry can't just walk away, however. Those decisions effect their livelihood. It's time that people are called to account for their poor decisions and it's time that people with large investments in the industry were given representation at Board level. The cry of the rebellious Americans in their war of independence was No taxation without representation. Why should owners , trainers and breeders pay anything to HRNZ without representation at board level. The decision making process would be considerably enhanced if it effected your livelihood
  4. Not bad Mike, but you left out Kens stuttering.
  5. Disqualified for 8 years
  6. John Grainger is the NZ Met appointment. He is from a good management background and has also worked in the Civil service. I think he would make a far better chairman. The most important thing that has to be dealt with urgently is getting rid of the 2 days a week chief executive. We need a competent person at the helm even if it is to bring back Edward Rennell. He has a wealth of knowledge and is a safe pair of hands
  7. Eljay, if as you say that punters have lost interest in Harness Racing in the Hawkes Bay and trainers in the district were non existent, how can any allocation of dates to this region be justified
  8. Leggy, it hasn't been possible to get any information on this funding. I did get an indication that the funds had been used to keep HRNZ going during the lockdown. I do know that HRNZ did claim funding from the wage subsidy scheme. Other than wages their costs would have included rent on their premises after the ridiculous decision to sell their building in Lincoln Road and move to costly rental premises. Other than that I am struggling to get any further information
  9. As I understand it the money is paid in advance. As I've already asked what happened to the funds paid out for the period of the shutdown when no racing was held?
  10. What nonsense. There is no movement or consideration for that to happen in either party.
  11. We don't need a regional plan, we need a National plan which all parties agree upon and all parties work to make it succeed
  12. Yes, but who will be on the board of NZ Racing. Those appointments are essential to its success or failure
  13. They've got the cure. Quick tell all your fellow Americans so they can go out and have one huge party. 136,000 dead so far. Last one down turn out the lights. At least when that happens Democracy will return to the world
  14. I think it went on staff wages during the lockdown. Whatever the case it's all gone now
  15. What swamp did you crawl out of you odious creature. I can smell the rot from here
  16. Strange that the study you refer to 100 0 was the only one that found hydroxychloroquine was helpful. Previous studies by numerous researchers had shown the opposite and in fact it increased the chance of dying from Covid 19. Perhaps you had better take the drug 100 0 and maybe we'll find that we are rid of you at long last
  17. Now Gruff, how would anyone make any sense out of that post of Meomys, perhaps if you were an avid follower of her/his posts you might have been able to try and make some sense of it, but who follows Meomys posts. As for tips gruff, I had 2 racing yesterday for a first and a second so you're a day late in asking, sorry
  18. I'm sure he did, helped him grab them by the p...y no doubt
  19. The cost of travel to places like Blenheim and Palmerston North is a negative, but the main attraction to owners and trainers is the chance to take their lesser performing horses to a place where they have a chance of getting some prize money. It is bloody hard to win a race at Addington unless you've got a very good horse.

    Weak RIU

Yes I'm not too sure what's going on with the RIU at the moment. They seem to be too frightened to hand out penalties. Perhaps they're trying to make us all think that they're not such bad guys afterall
  21. You are without a doubt the second worst moron I have ever come across. How you can spout all that ridiculous rubbish. When do you actually sleep. Or is that the trouble , you don,t sleep so you suffer from sleep deprived mania
  22. Make America Great Again, he's done a great job with that the Chinese are running rings around him
  23. The Clubs own nothing, at best the members do
