Don't they have a large team of horses and good drivers round at Dunns

Knowing Greg Hope I am sure he will
  3. Great picking. Not one winner

How many horses would be able to run 3.12.9 for 2600 metres first up with only one trial
  5. Hi westview, you mention that 2 years ago Methven had a deficit of $90,000, how did they manage to face a loss of that size?
  6. My question would be, what is happening about that huge albatross around the industries neck, the NZ Racing Authority, are cuts going to be made or will we continue pouring money into what is a bureaucratic abyss Stables I can assure you that RITA is extremely focused on driving any organisational efficiency that may be available. The Minister has made it very clear in his Letter of Expectation that we should look for efficiency gains in RITA operations without compromising organisational capability, minimise transitional costs and ensure the transfer of functions to the codes does not result in an overall increase in cost to the industry.
  7. Yet, why do so many trainers nominate?
  8. Same old tired lot. The only difference is the kindred bodies now have no representation
  9. Yes but they did promise that they would enable famiy to enter the mine. A promise made by John Key, which was subsequently renequed
  10. The man's 73 years old for gods sake. Get off his back. As for Trumps allegation that the Pike River recovery plan was a lefty feel good bubble, I would remind him that the recovery plan was instigated by the previous National government. I assume Trump is emulating his name sake by spouting false news
  11. Regardless of what you think a horse is worth Blue it's up to the owners to refuse to sell their horse for less than they think it's worth
  12. If it was a poor drive Ricky would be the first person to say so
  13. That Ken is a leading light in the industry at Governance level or should I be looking at the sleep emoji. It concerns me that Rita has be running the show for several weeks now and nothing appears to have changed. HRNZ don't even appear to be aware that there was a Messara report. They have restructered their board, but all thats achieved is disenfranchise all sub entities such as the Breeders Association and the Owners Association These organisations are no longer guaranteed seats on the board and consequently the opportunity to advocate for their members.
  14. You will be amazed DKC but I agree with you, that is away over the top. I can live with it for major races like the NZ Cup but the Maurice Holmes Vase is just another race and should be acceptance fee free
  15. It's only daunting if you don't have the confidence to think your horse is good enough to win. I wouldn't worry about nominating myself Purdon's going to win anyway
  16. It's no different than the Sires Stakes and Yearling sales series. The owner pays. If it wasn't for breeders and owners there wouldn't be any 6 figure stakes except for the NZ Cup, Auckland Cup, Dominion Handicap and the Rowe Cup. Just be happy you've got a horse good enough to compete at that level. If you haven't then don't nominate
  17. What's it to you dkc, it seems very personal, have you a share in a horse that's being nominated?
  18. How is it different from Breeders and owners funding the likes of the sires stakes and the yearling sales series
  19. I've got a horse with Kerr. His attention to detail and proactive approach to his horses is second to none. He deserves the success he gets
  20. I think they would be earning a bit more than a 100k Tim. The trouble is there are too many clubs and far too many staff, and we've still got the racing authority millstone around our neck, not to mention the totally inneficient RIU
