  1. I think they can do it because they have got the whip hand. The percentage of the funding that Thoroughbred racing will get can be no less than what they have been on in previous years and could well be greater, however it is a different situation for Harness Racing and for the greyhounds
  2. Crow, the reason for the delay is that the new Tripartate board to replace Rita has not yet been established. This Board is to be made up by an appointment from each of the codes and will decide the percentage of the funding that each code will get. At the moment there is considerable debate about the split of the funding between the codes.
  3. Any contract to outsource would have guaranteed distribution levels and would deal with the issues you have raised Peter
  4. You're more than generous Tasman Man
  5. Of cause you moron, most people dying are people with symptons caused as a result of their bodies reaction to covid-19.
  6. Not quite real then Mike, no doubt it would have been more convenient for most to bet with the TAB, not to mention the large number of punters that would have used their cellphones
  7. JJ on the whole I enjoy Mikes posts, but he does not seem to be able to have a conversation without getting angry and aggressive. If he just stuck to the topic his input is usually interesting and informative
  8. $47m is a long way from $100m. As stated the opening of the mine was a policy of the previous National Government and closed down due to excessive cost and continued danger by the current Government
  9. 100 million? Show me the figures that make up that total. The opening of the Pike River mine was enacted by John Keys government, so wrong again
  10. Mike, your comments can be rather caustic at times and they evoke angry responses. I object to being told to go back to the sandpit, how patronising is that. It's you two boys throwing mud in each others face unnecesarily thats bringing the tone of the conversation down several notches. I'm sure you've heard much worse language in your time Mike
  11. Mike the on course turnovers at Auckland are dismal and may reflect the night they are racing on, the quality of the horses and the time of the year
  12. Yes Nomates I couldn't agree more to your statements
  13. No Nomates, I have not been in receipt of them, however I was a member of several country clubs some years ago and i do know that in those times at least the vast majority were operating at a loss. Without applications to the amenities funds their facilities would have been a shambles. I was at Geraldine some months back and public facilities were non existant. There needs to be a minimum standard for Clubs to hold race meeting these days and if its not there then they shouldn't be allocated permits
  14. Calm down gents, this is getting a bit too edgy. It's only chat site after all.
  15. Without looking at Palmerston North's P&L account I can't answer your question
  16. I agree Ohokaman, as for ATC, I think they would have been better sticking to their knitting. Perhaps a few bad decisions made at board level?
  17. No problem with country tracks other than the cost of their upkeep and the cost of getting to them
  18. They don't keep his type locked up these days Ohokaman, nowadays they are allowed to wander the streets at will, regardless of the harm they may cause
  19. Mike, grandeur is not a problem of mine, you are the one who has been recently resurrected
  20. It should have come as no surprise to anyone, Greg knew he would be looked after when he left the TAB
  21. Now Mike, you know the answer as should every person on this site that saw Messara as the messiah. He advocated that the industry should be restructured with land and assets from clubs set to be closed down, to be transferred to improve facilities and tracks at the clubs that remained. Now as I recall almost all posters on this site welcomed the Messara report and applauded Winston Peters for his readiness to introduce legislation to bring Messaras ideas to fruition. Now we all have exactly what we asked for
  22. Blue, you have as much chance of that happening as a pig flying over the moon
  23. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts
  24. Leggy, under the new Racing Act, only the three codes can allocate Race Dates and these must then be confirmed by the new board
