  3. Does anyone know if Sticky Boy required stitches to the back of his neck after Showbags had a snack on him at the lure on Wednesday night in Auckland?.
  4. With all due respect Lindsay, most fighters fight because they are genetically predisposed to it, some in retaliation for mistreatment, and a few because of injury. If a trainer like Darren McDonald who is at the top of the industry cannot stop a dog like Surgeon reoffending, how can anyone else. There will always be exceptions to the rule.
  5. yes he had been put out in Australia for fighting before he came over here. As to why he was not put out - good question! The rules are there they just need to be enforced.
  6. Any trainer actively advertising for fast fighters should be struck off the trainers list. The industry needs to learn that it is all about the Punter, without them you are racing for ribbons. If punters get cleaned out by fighters and non-chasers, they abandon betting on dogs. The most recent high profile case of this is Showbags costing Tricky Shelley the NZ Cup. Nothing was done and in his next start ran a nonie race. He is another aussie fighter. If trainers think they never re-offend then maybe 3 offences from a kennel and the trainer gets the stand down - put your money where your mouth is. Yes most fighters are fast but most re-offend. Rules are in place to deal with these dogs but hardly ever enforced! Stips need to be held more accountable. Aussie has its own finish-on tracks now so they can keep their own grave fillers there. Any owner that has had a dog wrecked by a fighter will tell you how it sours them from re-investing in the industry. So if trainers don't care about the punter and the owners then enjoy your ribbons!
